NPL 2026

Sutherland 3-2 APIA.
Wanderers 2-1 Olympic

Yes APIA had mid week commitments but that’s a pretty noteworthy result.

From what I saw of Wanderers v Olympic, Olympic were much improved but this is the problem with leaving it this late in the day. Can’t afford many results like that.

Sutherlands looking a great little facility nowadays, decent crowd in by the looks too. Good on em. Again, a rare example of a club in this country pre dating the post ww2 migration wave. Both sutherland or Rockdale would be good candidates for that final aus championship spot. All due respect to spirit for qualifying on merit last year but we all know that was a bit of aberration. It’ll be good to have a bit more an established club make it

3 losses in 7 days for APIA in all competitions.

A win for Marconi today and they'll go 4 clear.

We need a win today at blacktown to stay in touch, however that wont be easy with their new recruits.

Ulverstone in Tasmania got their first ever victory at NPL level yesterday. They were bottom taking on 2nd place Kingborough, who have qualified for the Australia Cup! Massive odds. Here's the winner, makes guys scream like girls hahaha. And watch them run on the pitch after the final whistle!

Bankstown 2-2 Dulwich Hill.

Paying players 3-4k a week still can't buy them a win.

Blacktown Spartans 5 points clear, and 8 points clear of Bankstown.
Teams are playing against Bankstown as if it’s a final

That’s the target you put on your back for signing all these players on high $$ and making all the noise

If Olympic go down and Bankstown don’t get promoted this year it could be a real shit fight for promotion next season. Although there are rumours that pro-rel is gonna be reformed next year, I’d imagine maybe more in line with the npl vic system of 2.5 up and down

Marconi 2-0 St George Budapest
Blacktown 0-0 Sydney United

Marconi now with a 4 point lead over 2nd placed APIA, lots of water to go under the bridge yet but you’d think having gotten into that position it’s now Marconi’s to lose. A couple of first team regulars absent today as well

Again, similar to APIA that it’s hard to back up after a mid week cup final, but Sydney United will feel that’s 2 points dropped. Seem to struggle to break teams down at times. Maybe lacking an out and out goal scorer.

Olympic now 4 points of 14th and 15th Blacktown and St George Budapest. Wanderers are no easy beats by any means but a missed opportunity for them to make up some ground this weekend.
