Hope they can break the curse...Mexico look rampant - so aggressive going forward. Great to watch.
Astonishing the reversal.Possession:
Netherlands 30%
Morocco 70%
xG:
Netherlands 0.23
Morocco 1.40
Big Chances:
Netherlands 1
Morocco 5
Deserved loss for the Dutch. Absolute disaster of a performance. They didn't play this negatively even against Spain in 2010. Back 3 with 1.93m van de Ven as a wingback? Koopmeiners playing in a back 3 in a knockout match. Malen is one of the most in-form goalscorers in Europe and doesn't even play. What is going on over there?
I had a good look at Spain’s last group game. Can’t remember the opponent?Spain?
Astonishing the reversal.
As I understand it at the last WC, Morocco had little possession relative to their opponents in Qatar.
When I watched the game in extra time, Holland barely touched the ball. Morocco had the ball most of the time and when they lost it in the Moroccan Defensive Transitions, they won the ball back quickly from the Dutch too.
Germany have been wanting Klopp for some time. He has always been in their plans. The problem is that Klopp wants something part time and chill, so unless Germany are going to give him a bit more flexibility in the role, he is going to stick with his current role. The Dutch should appoint Pep Guardiola to honour the legacy Johan Cruyff gave to Barcelona but we know they are not going to do this, Germany should look at Klopp but again do they have the ambition to do this.
Both national teams are at the crossroads at the moment whilst the likes of Norway and Morocco are the way up based on this World Cup.
For Mexico they look like a very solid team, no champion individuals but a strong well organised team with a passionate fan base.
France just look awesome to watch, their front line are so fluid and look hard to stop I expect they will get a hard test soon apart from the first half against Senegal they haven’t been tested fully but so far they look unstoppable so far.
Mexico ran out 2-0 winners over 10-man Ecuador in their World Cup round of 32 game.I want Mexico to win and then knockout England in the round of 16 in Mexico City.
I still wish he picked Estéban Lepaul from Rennes. Top scorer in Ligue 1 yet people still keep ignoring him in awards, squad picks, etc, even though he scored more goals than even Ousmane Dembélé.Their phenomenal attack is firing on all cylinders here...
Mbappé, Dembélé, Olise, Barcola, Désiré Doué, etc and the squad depth under Didier Deschamps is giving them real quality from the bench. Defensively quality is very noticeable too...The complete package!
Haaland is an absolute legend. Fierce warrior but gentle giant.
