The UK is on the brink of Civil War

Nah.... Honestly the British might take to the streets protesting and venting frustration at mainstream politicians, but they don't have the appetite for anything close to a civil war. It's mostly a lot of hot air and their last actual civil war was nearly 400 years ago.

Northern Ireland, however, is a different story. They operate on a completely different historical wavelength, with a deeply ingrained memory of conflict and sectarian tension woven right into their cultural DNA.....

A civil war requires a fractured military, a collapse of government institutions, and a populace armed for revolution. The UK has none of those. Instead, what will happen is a period of intense, exhausting civil unrest loud, angry, and messy, but fundamentally contained within the existing political system.

Western nations have an incredible amount of built-in institutional armour. They can absorb massive amounts of anger, fire, and political chaos without the core machinery of the state ever breaking.

A day after he was convicted for the fatal 2025 stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet, Karmelo Anthony has filed a notice of appeal in the closely watched murder trial.

On Tuesday, jurors rejected Anthony’s self-defense claim for murdering Metcalf during a confrontation at a high school track meet on April 2, 2025 in Frisco, Texas. After deliberating for roughly three hours, a Collin County jury reached a unanimous verdict, sentencing Anthony to 35 years in prison for first-degree murder.

Great news!!!!

If we sacrifice 80% of our wage and not go more than 10mins from our home then we wouldn't have these issues.

It can't be expected that the average citizen deminishes their own quality of life when the biggest culprits don't. Those who want to get into office are equally corrupt and have no interest to fix it. Why would they bite the hand that feeds them?

I ‘love’ reading this weekly post from Counter Punch.

A dot point summary of the awfulness emanating on a weekly basis, primarily from the good ole USA

According to the State Criminal Police Office, 42-year-old convicted murderer Benjamin Fricke escaped in Peine-Vöhrum on Tuesday afternoon. He fled on his motorcycle during a supervised outing. He was being held in Celle Prison.

According to the Ministry of Justice in Hanover, the offender, accompanied by a chaperone, visited his mother's apartment in Peine during his day release. It was his 38th such release; the previous 37 had been uneventful. "According to initial findings, the prisoner used his time in a nearby garage at around 2:30 p.m. to leave on his motorcycle," the ministry stated.

Day release for a life sentenced murderer? FFS the justice system has big problems. He killed a young woman in 2010 after she refused his advances.

Would more deductions from my pay have prevented this? The poorest pay while those better off can afford and deny.
The question really IS would you havep happily accepted a deduction from your pay to PREVENT 40 deaths or not?
