I invited Mono our for a drink in my neck of the woods.

He said he felt nervous and insecure leaving his fellow South Melb supporters!

Refused, because he couldn’t make any money out of a few drinks, and he felt insecure going up to a bar and returning a shout, devoid of South M supporters next to him.
I really wouldn't be talking about being a tight arse if i was you.

As for WHY I keep on refusing your direct message and cryptic messages for meetings and to give you my details its because I think there is something wrong with you and I dont want anything to do with you in real life, you are a creep.

Just can’t get over all the newbies and former 442 members participating on G and G?

It might not be a bad idea for most G and G veterans, who congregate here, to welcome these new guys to the forum? We are getting a much bigger range of views than I can remember since G and G started.

Grazor and Pas usually welcome new members. The more welcome newbies feel, the more likely they will stay.

World cup isn't real football

I've always had that same feeling.....

Following club football is a lifestyle and for a lot fans an actual community. They're living it week in and week out with the same group of players, riding the waves of form, injuries, and transfer sagas over a grueling 10-month stretch.

The World Cup, by comparison, is basically a massive pop-up carnival, the "Disney-on-ice" of football.

Every four years, a bunch of people who don't watch a single minute of regular season football show up, in a replica top, paint their faces, and pretend they are die-hard fans for a month or so before disappearing again. If you love the deep, gritty, everyday culture of the sport, that tourist-heavy atmosphere can definitely feel superficial.

I dutifully watch it of course, but it's more a "void filler" for me rather than the be all, end all....

But I do love the carnival as long as we are involved.

Club football is a series you are addicted to - but sometimes you feel like a good run of movies.

WC’s are epic…..
It’s your country no diff to olympics or other tournaments.
Great were involved.
I’m sure IF we were to the standard of Japan for eg your pov would change a lot more to some as well.
Club is club - different kettle of fish and cherished very much but the pinnacle is being in a WC.
Our cherished club mates die for the shirt together together instead of against and club mates oppose themselves.
Must be a surreal feeling and us viewing.
Club players you don’t like then support.
It’s mixers the feelings so differently.
Not real football - it’s more than that in other ways with your feelings.
