Hi Decentric, I'm not sure which posts you're referring to. If you are concerned with a post please report it so it can be looked at. We're not across every post and there is a lot of traffic atm.

I’m not as concerned, as the issue of we seem to have recruited a lot of new posters since the World Cup, and, we want to keep them posting in G and G football threads.

The new blood has proffered a lot of new football content.

I, and many other regulars, desperately want to retain the new blood and keep expanding the forum.

A few have complained about derailing of threads away from football.

If any regular posters, particularly moderators, have been following the WC football threads it should be pretty obvious how and who has steered them off topic - to the frustration of new members wanting to discuss the WC football.

I feel D reacted to one post asking to keep on topic and went OTT in his post..
You also don’t point the finger to a fellow poster then butter them up.
I suggest deleting his long post and he use the report button if he feels as such towards someone.
No intent to offend anyone just my pov.

I do recall the other posts that caused a newer member to react in saying to keep posts on the topic.
It wasn't Mono who started that scenario but as one would he responded.
Hence the outcome.
As I said, D or any of us is ok to keep the peace but not the way as it was done.
That bet should incl Sutho RIMB and Muz, now what a night that would be of solving first world probs haha

It is primarily to retain many recent new posters on G and G.

They’ve added to breadth of discussion. If we retain them, G and G becomes better with greater diversity of opinion.

A few have complained about football threads becoming derailed.

The derailing issue has been prevalent on this and 442 as well - by a minuscule minority, and one nameless perpetrator in particular. The derailing might be inadvertent too.

I invited Mono our for a drink in my neck of the woods.

He said he felt nervous and insecure leaving his fellow South Melb supporters!

Refused, because he couldn’t make any money out of a few drinks, and he felt insecure going up to a bar and returning a shout, devoid of South M supporters next to him.
