Socceroos vs Turkey 2026 World Cup match thread 🇦🇺🇹🇷

Round Ball Australia: "You have a good first half, and then you can kill the game off in the 2nd half"
There are two explanations for Popa's strategic switch:
1. He's been reading greenand goldfc.com
2. He's been reading greenand goldfc.com
Lovely!!! Now let’s get Joe Montemurro on board too!

These people aren't worth the time. They stink, don't shower, think everything should be handed to them, overvalue some stupid service or art they've created all while wanting to dismantle capitalism with a Macbook and $9 iced coffee.
Love that description!

My only comment on the matter as to keep politics low. I've seen so many posts the last days about migration and diversity of the Socceroos. Yeah, brilliant, most of us have something like that in our family history too.

The video is great as the players celebrate their families while the tone of the posting page is trying to rub it in the nose of anyone who wants to question sensible migration policy.

Stupid stuff post game now about One Nation supporters won't be liking Iraunkunda when got a vast majority that simply isn't the case. It's about assimilation and these blokes are all great and not dickheads.

If you want to dress up as a roadman, rob with a machete or pick up terrorists from an airport and claim you now own Australia then you can fuck off.
Exactly!!! I’m sure even Pauline Hanson herself would cheer if Mary Fowler, Nestory Irankunda or Mo Touré scored. She’s very patriotic. I don’t even support her but I won’t make up shit.

Anyway, let’s keep the Reddit shit-talk on the appropriate thread so as to not clog this one up.

That’s not quite the boast it first seems - means we’ve only beat the bad teams (so far).
It could be put that way, but it could also be put this way: the teams we’ve beaten at the World Cup have been Japan, Serbia, Tunisia, Denmark and Turkey. Those were all quite strong teams, and three of them were UEFA countries!

Was so entranced by the game into totally forgot Frankfurt's Uzun didn't get brought on at all. Turkish fans livid the little striker was the main target.

Their centre backs were also off. I reckon if Kabak and Sönyüncü had started we would have seen a calmer more assured ground defensive display.

Seeing posts replied to but can't find originals as this thread is so hot.

Our most famous world cup victory for me up until today was probably still against Serbia but Denmark is more nostalgic. I think today replaces it.

The emotion and joy from Okon and Foxe when we scored. Okon man what a guy living his own world cup dream after never getting there as a player.
