Introduce yourself here (again)

It has taken me some time, but I have finally decided to migrate across from the now defunct Roar website to this forum.

I was previously asked by the prior editor (before Tony came onboard) to write for that site to liven up the lagging a league section and boy did I liven it up.

The site had complaints from players, officials and clubs that took umbrage with information that I released publicly (most notably macarthur and western united)

I broke news on players wages, contracts, sponsorship deals and fights behind the scenes, not just at Adelaide United but several other a league clubs as well (have very good knowledge of Brisbane roar and Sydney fc behind the scenes due to the number of south Australians who played there or held administration positions over the years)

Given where I’m based, my speciality is all things South Australia where I will try and give you as much information as possible about players/coaches/admin staff (past, present and upcoming) without breaking their trust.

Previously I had worked with Football South Australia in a development role, before joining Adelaide United in a similar role. I have also done some freelance analyst work for Western United and continue to do so locally with my junior club Beograd in the SA NPL as well as Altona in the VIC NPL.

My views on the women’s version of the sport and the men’s national teams are very controversial and will upset some people haha.

I don’t post on any social media platforms and people often confuse me with Aussie Scout on twitter.

Any questions feel free to ask (theres a lot more I could’ve said, but didn’t want to bore people haha)
Welcome to the forum, TSS.

how long away did you leave United? post NSL till when exactly?

that period post NSL (2005-2012) was really some dark years, for not only United but football in general in my opinion.
I started to come back regularly when my boy was about 4-5 - that would of been 2018.

Before then it was an odd match here and there. Finals and that. The Luka Glavas game against Blacktown, the games against Bonno, the FFA cup games etc. Now my son and Luka Glavas boy are in the same team and have played together since u9.

We lived for the Croatian NT team games during that period 05-12.

I hated A-league and everything it stood for.

Welcome to GG TSS !
Look forward to the intel and controversy !
I had expected quite a few regular ex 442 members who migrated to Roar many of us knew poking their heads in here, maybe soon.
Theres still a few posters from the roar that could add value here (people are familiar with Waz, who has a wealth of knowledge and good banter)

I will try to be constructive in discussions, but there are a multitude of topics eg (australian national teams, coaching in this country at every age level, womens football, Croatian npl clubs etc) that will get me fired up. haha

and yes i will still break news in regards to player wages, contracts and general day to day life

oh yes, those one-day Croats, only come out for the big occasions lol

In all seriousness, there were many croats that stopped going after the NSL. But it's been a good resurgence as of late, i would say the last 3 years.

we'd probably know the same circle of people.

That's a fair call for my hiatus times - the boys stopped going, everyone had young kids, we lost the love for the week to week support

My fondest childhood memories were United games on a Sunday

100% we'd know the same people, i'm always around king tom

its good to see all the kids back at united games.

they are the ones pushing the parents to the games.

In fairness Beretta we all have different worlds and responsibilities when saying those one day Croats be it Italians/Serbs name them all.
I'd luv to have had the time like you but impossible.
Only good thing is tech today and for years now you can keep tabs or view whilst your elsewhere.

Agree there is a new shift occurring more coming back to NPL, so so dam great to see !
