When I lived in London I was resident in the borough of Lambeth which is not quite under the control of the 'Green Party' but they are the largest party on 29 council seats compared to the 4 they got in 2022....
Labour who had 54 seats in 2022 are now languishing on 22 and it's the centre-left Liberal Democrats with 8 who now hold the balance of power on that council.
The 'Green Party' whose founding poltical ideologies are supposed to be about climate change and ecological sustainability issues barely mentioned these things in their election campaigns....
Nor did their co-leader Scott Ainsley in his 'victory speech' which wasn't actually a victory because they don’t have that majority....
They did however spend a lot of time talking about the Gaza War and the need for the Borough of Lambeth to 'twin' with a township in Palestine.
The next day 'the Greens' had to sack one of it's elected councillors for extreme anti-semitic posts on facebook...
The neighbouring Borough of Lewisham are now in the control of The 'Green Party' and their newly elected mayor spent his entire victory speech making clear his intention to challenge and dismantle the sinister, cynical relationship with Israel maintained by Keir Starmer’s Labour.
And castigated the Labour Party for "the huge sums of money ‘donated’ to Starmer by Jews and his cabinet of Zionist stooges"....
But not much about climate change or ecological sustainability issues....no!
