World news and politics.

When I lived in London I was resident in the borough of Lambeth which is not quite under the control of the 'Green Party' but they are the largest party on 29 council seats compared to the 4 they got in 2022....

Labour who had 54 seats in 2022 are now languishing on 22 and it's the centre-left Liberal Democrats with 8 who now hold the balance of power on that council.

The 'Green Party' whose founding poltical ideologies are supposed to be about climate change and ecological sustainability issues barely mentioned these things in their election campaigns....

Nor did their co-leader Scott Ainsley in his 'victory speech' which wasn't actually a victory because they don’t have that majority....

They did however spend a lot of time talking about the Gaza War and the need for the Borough of Lambeth to 'twin' with a township in Palestine.

The next day 'the Greens' had to sack one of it's elected councillors for extreme anti-semitic posts on facebook...

The neighbouring Borough of Lewisham are now in the control of The 'Green Party' and their newly elected mayor spent his entire victory speech making clear his intention to challenge and dismantle the sinister, cynical relationship with Israel maintained by Keir Starmer’s Labour.

And castigated the Labour Party for "the huge sums of money ‘donated’ to Starmer by Jews and his cabinet of Zionist stooges"....

But not much about climate change or ecological sustainability issues....no!

I don't need to say in Hindsight.......
The Greens, have just one good thing when they came to be - I get the care and need of all of us to implement recycling as the decades/years moved on - something we needed to learn about after all the years of growth and mass production.
Also the care and need for the eco system/pollution this is all a given. I commend this absolutely.
Stick to these 2 great topics the world needs/needed but as for the politcs, well say no more what they have contributed there is polution in the plenty that has divided and caused much harm.
Labour, well its the wart they were happy to join with and my hasn't it grown like a cancer and run their course.

meanwhile in scotland.

A non-binary transgender Indian and former PhD student, born in Tamil Nadu, has become the first person to be elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) despite being a foreign citizen who does not have a permanent visa to live in the UK.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
It's the most ridiculous thing. Non citizen on a temporary visa sitting for a position and then getting in with that rate of pay. We ought to all give politics a go to get the pension after a cycle or two.

Australia has a crisis unfolding on its doorstep – and things are about to get a whole lot worse, according to security and health experts.

In many ways you can thank Australia for that. As noted in the "article" it's a transit destination so someone obviously thought that selling whatever to the locals is a good way to get paid for allowing things to go through the area however it must be noted that Australia per capita are the highest users of cocaine in the world.

For such a small pop we’re known as highest users ?
Never heard that - interesting
