Well said, mate!Cristian Volpato, who switched allegiances from Italy to Australia just days ago, and Japan-born Tete Yengi are in line for national debuts. I am a firm believer that a sports person should play for the country of their birth and that is precisely what Cristian Volpato has done. Hats off to him in making this move to slip on the Socceroos jumper for a possible World Cup crack.
And welcome aboard Tete Yengi as well. May you and Cristian both put the ball in the back of the net for the Aussies during the World Cup and make your nation proud..![]()
Japan-born? Is Adelaide just outside of Tokyo?Cristian Volpato, who switched allegiances from Italy to Australia just days ago, and Japan-born Tete Yengi are in line for national debuts.

Now now. I only typed what I read, so the blame is on the sports scribe that erred not yours truly..Japan-born? Is Adelaide just outside of Tokyo?
Agree that Craig Goodwin should have made the final Socceroos playing list ahead of Leckie in the absence of the injured Riley McGree and Alex Robertson would have been a good inclusion to bolster our midfield stocks heading into the World Cup.If McGree hadn't gotten injured then he's in over Leckie. Volpato was probably always coming.
I'd still have taken Goodwin over Leckie at present. Also Robertson in for Geria.
It's pretty hard being a midfielder under Popovic. He only has spots for 2 at a time and they need to be defensive ones.Agree that Craig Goodwin should have made the final Socceroos playing list ahead of Leckie in the absence of the injured Riley McGree and Alex Robertson would have been a good inclusion to bolster our midfield stocks heading into the World Cup.
Yes, I saw that. I was not throwing shade at you.Now now. I only typed what I read, so the blame is on the sports scribe that erred not yours truly..
Alex Robertson is a versatile midfielder who can also play in the defensive midfield position and be another midfield anchor option along with Kai Trewin though, and personally I would have included him ahead of Aiden O'Neill who's only just returned from injury and might be a risk heading into our World Cup campaign with regards to his fitness. It's pretty hard being a midfielder under Popovic. Yep. It's what we've been discussing the last few hours. The final squad is announced today is that correct ?
Brutal for Boyle but correct call imo. Line ball with Mabil imo though. So boyle, borello degenek and gauci cut
Actually pretty sensible!
With those cut players well of course
I think the 11:30 thing is the squad announcement press-conference.Well I much prefer this than 3:30 am my time but didn't someone press the button by accident? 11:30 am Eastern![]()
Boyle over Leckie would have been better actually.Think about how old Herrington was when we were struggling during the covid qualifiers.
There would've been some tough conversations there. Boyle will be devastated.
Your reply with Degenek had me shocked thinking him and Rowles.
I opened the FA article and they didn't state it but saw names like Souttar and Devlin and froze that they might be out.
Frantically searched for Devlin's name. Leckie gets in with the midfield aspect other it is Boyle.
