Melbourne city thread

City going big in the transfer window.
Having signed Teague, Arzani and Younis, they have now announced Harrison Delbridge is returning to bolster the defence.

Sad to say but City looks much better without the "youngsters" starting on the pitch.
None of them (so far, to be fair), are looking as promising as youngsters of the past, like
Metcalfe or Bos. Even Caputo isn't living up to the hype. I think if City had retained Maclaren it is likely they would be fighting for first or second not sixth or seventh.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed with Lawrence Wong's performance. He was much better prior to the MCL. These days he is a bit like Randazzo, floats around a lot. Curious to know if those were the coaches' instructions.

It’s official: threepeat A-League Women premiers Melbourne City have secured a domestic double, having beaten Wellington Phoenix 3–1 in the grand final at AAMI Park! They’ve still got a treble to play for with the Champions League semi-finals coming up!

Here was Holly McNamara’s screamer in the first half followed by another goal to make it a brace:

After half time, Leticia McKenna scored another worldie to put City up 3–0:

And the girls sure seem pumped after that win!

I am curious to know why MC always plays overseas clubs away from Melbourne. If you want to grow the club, why not have the European teams come to Melbourne?
"While the Club explored a number of options to bring the fixture to Melbourne, scheduling and logistical considerations associated with Palermo’s Australian tour ultimately meant Perth was the only feasible location for the match. "
Read into that how you want, but it sounds like Melbourne is 4 hours too far.

Excuses

If the hierarchy wanted a game in Melbourne they would get it they aren't bothered about building a fanbase
