I think that his European journey is all but over. He can come back to the AL where he will be a regular or maybe try his luck in the Asian leagues.

Sad to say but City looks much better without the "youngsters" starting on the pitch.
None of them (so far, to be fair), are looking as promising as youngsters of the past, like
Metcalfe or Bos. Even Caputo isn't living up to the hype. I think if City had retained Maclaren it is likely they would be fighting for first or second not sixth or seventh.
