More worried about ommissions than inclusions

Thought scicluna and younis would be worth a look
Worry about exclusions when they are actually excluded. I've no idea who else will be coming to the camp but I'm reasonably confident that the players going there already know that they are and have organised a date to get there.

Interesting he said there'll be some players we haven't seen before and alluded to that when he was talking about positions of depth concerns.

I reckon candidates would be Bennie and Borges-Rodriguez for RWB and Sapsford and T.Yengi for up top.

Any other contenders?

You’d think if Dylan Scicluna, a guy whose season is completely over, was gonna get called up he’d come now unless he’s negotiating an overseas move. Marcus Younis is possibly back training with Brøndby so he might still come.

I think Raphael Borges Rodrigues will likely be going to the camp as a differential option along with Jacob Italiano but Italiano will possibly make the final 26-player list instead because he ranks higher in defensive contributions and has senior international experience which Borges Rodrigues lacks.

If Leckie gets called up the that suggest Younis hasn't been included as I don't think he's being given a short holiday.
Popovic was very clear in his press conference that Leckie was picked for his experience and Younis was not due to inexperience, but that his time will come. He said Leckie was the best player for Melb City in the weekend game v AUK. I watched that game. Leckie was good. Younis could have been but perhaps because he was marked so tightly by Auckland, his teammates kept going left.

I guess that means he’ll be in the squad then. Bruh.

Leckie shouldn't get the nod but the only position I don't hate the idea of him in is RWB.
Leckie should not be in the Socceroos playing list for the World Cup anyway given that he's only just returned to full fitness after having hip surgery and we have much better options at right wing back and in midfield who fit into Tony Popovic's tactical system.

Definitely Volpato, Arena and Okon Jr Jr :ROFLMAO:

Seriously those are good shouts from you.

I'd add Strain, A Goodwin, G. Kuol, Watts and possibly Chipperfield as other options of varying liklihoods.

Does he still have the engine for RWB at 35? Have watched a bit of Younis but city are probably least appealing for me as a neutra viewer.
I highly doubt Leckie can still play right wing back at 35 years of age in addition to only just returning from a serious hip injury and we'll be better off naming a more youthful player in that position instead.
