Disagree, he would be unstoppable up top with our best team, he is 30 years old makes him only a year older than Sawyer, you'd never need to worry about him getting poached. His aerial presence alone would improve us by 20-25%
Yeah like the great Dane and his 30-40% leap eh??? Take your hand off it, Ive seen the bloke in 3-4 highlights reels for Victory.... NPL defences would make him cry.

I haven't seen him play in the A League, but these are his career stats.

He would bang in 7-10 goals easily if he came across mid season to the NPL Victoria competition based on those career stats. I am happy to be corrected because I haven't seen him play.

Awesome stats for a striker.... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Stop being grumpy re... it would be a marketing coup none the less, logix dictates he would score way more than anything we have upfront currently and would be a differwnt strike to Manny allowing for versatility...as for npl defences dealing with him have you seen the hacks in the greek league that he had to avoid, break legs first ask questions later type of football we know too well... lol

One of our glaring weaknesses is that big target to pick out in the box. For a team whose so good out wide at full strength it is one of our missing links.

Gutted that we may never see Sawyer play for South again, especially in this team. Just hope the club is ready to pounce on a Vergos type if Aguek falls through.

Not sure we can win silverware with the current options. As much stick as he cops i do have a shred of sympathy for Singh because he has never been afforded the opportunity to play with our best team, scored a very nice goal against Hume but we were depleted that night. I'd be fascinated to see how he goes with our full compliment behind him but perhaps a risk we cant afford to take.

That's an interesting observation you make. He did score a nice goal against Hume City, but most times he has played, he has failed to show anything that justified his signing. He was in all sorts against Hampton East Brighton in the Round 4 Dockerty Cup match. I think he may not make the cull. Only way he survives is that Aguek does not come back and we cannot find a suitable replacement.

I think we'll be able to find a suitable replacement for Singh during the midseason transfer window but even if he isn't culled he'll be relegated to the reserves and probably be gone by the time the Australian Championship rolls around.

Tonight is the last time we will see the first team playing until the end of May at the very earliest.

Given what is about to follow against Heidelberg, George Cross and Avondale, we will need to win tonight and win by at least 3-4 goals to help minimise the impending damage to our goal difference.

Marketing Coup? Oh FFS re...

Swibel IS that big strong 6 yard box specialist #9 he just cant seem to play with his back to goal or to harass from the top like Sinisa wants... Manny would help that, or another pacy striking option ... If we get rid of Swibel for somone like that old Greek bloke you are all frothing over it might make sense otherwise we don;t need another "marque" Euro κουραδα.

He has come on against tiring defences on many occasions and been unable to make a run or hold the ball.... He is a young bloke and may very well become a better striker but is a luxury player for us now...

Specifically npl we've only seen Singh for a half against Hume, a half against Altona, has he appeared in any other games?

Goal difference will be nice but i'll settle for the 3 points tonight. If we win tonight we should only see Heidelberg and Oakleigh leapfrog us. By the end of ofc we should be no lower than 3rd. Failure to win tonight will be very problematic.

So he cant find a touch against 120kg CBs with fresh legs in OFC but is going to "do alright" in the NPL??? Sure whatever you say but I totally disagree.

If we win tonight (assuming 1-0 win), we move to 24 points and a goal difference of +8. That ensures we remain top for one more week.

Assuming we lose against Heidelberg, George Cross and Avondale, we will be giving up 9 points and two of those 3 aforementioned teams are below us.

Heidelberg has the following matches: May 8th vs Hellas, May 15th vs Bentleigh, and May 22nd vs Green Gully. They should win all those matches and will be 8 points ahead of us by the end of May.

Oakleigh has the following matches: May 8th vs Dandenong Thunder, May 15th vs Dandenong City, and May 24th vs Preston. I'm assuming that Oakleigh will win two of those matches (lose to Preston), and will be 5 points ahead of us.

Hume City has the following matches: May 9th vs George Cross, May 16th vs Avondale, and May 23rd vs Altona Magic. I'm assuming Hume will draw against Avondale but win the other 2 matches. Assuming Hume loses tonight to Heideleberg, we will move 7 points ahead. That would mean would be equal on 24 points as us by Round 15.

Avondale has the following matches: May 9th vs Altona Magic, May 16th vs Hume City, and May 25 vs Hellas. I'm assuming that Avondale will draw against Hume but win the other 2 matches. Avondale who are 5 points behind us, but should go past us and be 2 points ahead of us.

Assuming South wins tonight and loses the next 3 matches, and the above assumptions become reality, the league ladder by the time of Round 15 when our OFC Pro League commitments have ended will look like the following:

Heidelberg - 32 points
Oakleigh - 29 points
Avondale - 26 points
Hume - 24 points
Hellas - 24 points (due to assumed inferior goal difference)

Hellas has no chance in clinching the Minor Premiership. Heidelberg is in the prime position to claim it.

The only way we can minimise the above damage is if we are able to pull off a draw against George Cross and Football Victoria postpones the Avondale match until the catch up round later in the year. I think the club should try and get that Avondale match postponed.

In the ofc he has played with our B team. The point of the argument is how he would go with Uchida, Pasquali, Mikkola, Bonada etc running creating. I dont think he is up to it but he never got that opportunity.

For the sake of the argument we've seen Dovison look really good at times with the senior lads but as part of the broader B team he is largely innefective.
