I looked at the dates from the last 10 years. Mostly March, after some earlier April dates.

So hopefully we can get 3 home matches. Problem is that Athletics gets priority at this time.

If track and field has priority for the entirety of that time period then we only get around nine home games at Lakeside all year and none altogether in the early part of the season as we'll have to either play on the road or at Home of the Matildas which isn't ideal for us.

If we are talking the green gully and altona scenarios where we had the mix of fringe and a handful of seniors with the 23s thats different.

The kids that played Oakleigh cant beat anyone.

I would agree. We defeated Green Gully and Altona Magic because we had enough senior first team and bench players. Against Altona Magic, we had Eliopoulos, Bonada, Inglese, Menelaou, Dovison, Leech, Pope, Gorr-Burchmore, Skapoulas and Singh. Against Green Gully, we had Lopez, Jankovic, Pasquali, Eliopoulos, Bonada, Dovison, Skapoulas and O'Sullivan. Compare those inclusions against the U23s team we fielded against Oakleigh. It was just Dovison, Skapoulas, O'Sullivan and then a bunch of talented youth players.

To face George Cross, we would require at a minimum of Pope, Singh, Dovison, O'Sullivan, Gorr-Burchmore, Skapoulas and Coveny,

If we can squeeze in at least 2 home matches early on, we can take advantage of that warm weather and sell memberships/merchandise. We would need to work around Athletics' schedule given its their priority period.

Just to be clear here.. We are NOT only playing a pure U23 in these three NPL matches.. at least I dont expect us too nor think that that is the plan. Sorry if I misunderstood what you were both getting at...

we could start off by having merchandise for sale (not just 3 tops) on our website (or anywhere online really)... you know, like state league clubs do?
 
4-1 full time and a reality check for those who think double digits is not in play when the team heads to Auckland.
 
I will agree that it was a good opportunity to show hunger and take opportunities to step up... unfortunately it didnt happen... end of day its a dockerty cup with no ramifications on our AU Cup campaign.. to be fair given the amount of matches we are playing perhaps being knocked out is a blessing more than a curse... few less games to fit into our already almost impossible schedule...
