Got Germans saying an EPL channel would be fan unfriendly. They've clearly never used NFL game pass. The only issue would be pricing. If the EPL can price their content fairly then they'll have the masses signing up.

How popular is the Premier League in Germany?

Would it be regarded as people's second choice league to follow?

In England La Liga is generally considered the most popular foreign football league.

Most people in Germany just watch local football.

Fourth-tier Fortuna Köln drew more than 7,000 to the Südstadion for their regional Mittelrhein cup clash with Alemannia Aachen on a cold Wednesday night in midweek.

The Premier League has its fans, of course, but from my experience... the majority of fans in Germany follow German football (at many levels).

I totally agree....

German football is fantastic. It has probably the best fan culture eco-system in Europe.

I actually quite like watching Bundesliga 2.

Interesting set up for football commentators who do the call from a studio or in this case what looks like his spare bedroom... rather than the actual stadium.

This is from Simon Hill's X account.

He's that professional he'd be able to identify a Bahrain player from that angle.

I don't know when this started but it's changed the logistics and costs of commentary forever.

Gone are the days people get sent far and wide.

German sky has a sad little cabin for their conference now at the HQ rather than someone sitting at the stadium relating the exact atmosphere around them. Little pod jobs with a door shut right behind you.

Oh but sky still charge more than ever despite the bare bones effort they go to. Indeed the technology itself costs a lot but their books are still so imbalanced.

Dazn making record losses but funded by a Saudi group so it's just written off.
