I hear it was the guy who done the Championship crowds.RBB Couldn't even fill one bay.
16k lol. They must of used the same bloke that counts the crowds at Macarthur.
the average is fine, the long term trendline looks a worryI sometimes think Australian A-League fans are having a collective nervous breakdown over crowd figures...
But yeah, it's important to add that these things are going to enhance concerns over the future viability of a national sporting competition.
Especially when you're not in that top tier of the national sporting psyche, which effects media coverage, sponsorship and tv revenues.
Personally I think an A-League average crowd of ~8K is fairly good. The football quality is decent, with one or two exceptions the stadiums are good....
I'm not sure how you can get more bums-on-seats...

The average is fine only if the competition is financially sustainable. I suggest that is not the case.the average is fine, the long term trendline looks a worry
in principle if owners are willing to fund it its sustainableThe average is fine only if the competition is financially sustainable. I suggest that is not the case.
Yes but the current model involves significant losses year on year with no prospect of change. I doubt that satisfies any definition of sustainable.in principle if owners are willing to fund it its sustainable
thats pretty normal to be fair to have losses year after year. In general football I've been posting the much bigger losses of every club in the 2nd and 3rd divisions of englandYes but the current model involves significant losses year on year with no prospect of change. My frustration is that APL do absolutely nothing to build the competition. The only capability they have shown is incompetence.
Agree. I just wish there was some sign of a plan or a vision for the future from APL, but there is nothing to even suggest brain activity in the organisation. If this was a hospital they would be talking about organ harvesting, not that the APL would have anything worth saving.thats pretty normal to be fair to have losses year after year. mind you, owners are unambiguously willing to lose more money if they are in a league with p&r so I guess we don't know what the threshold is in this sort of league where owners are no longer willing to pay the deficits
I agree with you 100% but I must say when you're at a game and having fun you forget about all this off the pitch shiteYes but the current model involves significant losses year on year with no prospect of change. I doubt that satisfies any definition of sustainable.

its definitely weird how little they talk to the mediaAgree. I just wish there was some sign of a plan or a vision for the future from APL, but there is nothing to even suggest brain activity in the organisation.
Yeah I get that. I'm too far away to attend so it's all tv for me.I agree with you 100% but I must say when you're at a game and having fun you forget about all this off the pitch shite
The fact is that under their watch media coverage has gone from minimal to non existent. Ffs we have CFG in our corner! We have muscle. So why does the APL show all the spine of a jellyfish?its definitely weird how little they talk to the media
You are bang on. Also when you watch on tv I dunno why maybe it's because the lack of crowd but very hard to be as invested.Yeah I get that. I'm too far away to attend so it's all tv for me.
That's unfair to jellyfish and I apologise to the jellyfish community. Unlike APL, jellyfish have an organised nervous system. The fact is that under their watch media coverage has gone from minimal to non existent. Ffs we have CFG in our corner! We have muscle. Exactly. There was a time I could attend games and I loved it. That was Suncorp in the Ange era... Didn't realise how lucky I wasYou are bang on. Also when you watch on tv I dunno why maybe it's because the lack of crowd but very hard to be as invested.
