Thanks! I’d love to expand the women’s threads. Currently Matildas Abroad is mostly just me and Reb Fem.This was an entertaining thread last night![]()
You would be hard pressed to find real quality in any of our current squads, we simply don’t have programs that develop players like other nations do,The trouble is that our young players don’t inspire me with confidence either. Some serviceable players, but very very few of real quality.
I seriously see 90% of female and male teams do this. Why can't we just control it at the death. It's only a short pass to the next person. We belt it down to them or do solo runs and get lost.
Teams need to have better late game tactics.
You know when you're watching a game of football on the telly and the commentators are dribbling shit to each other about some complete irrelevance, that was this thread. It's a tried and tested formula. This was an entertaining thread last night![]()
Yeah one of those games where Taiwan had a few chances but in the end China were to dominantChina ran out 2-0 winners over Chinese Taipei after extra time and lock in a semi-final against the Matildas on Tuesday at Optus Stadium, also securing their spot in the 2027 Women's World Cup and becoming the third team after the Tillies and hosts Brazil to qualify. Chinese Taipei confirmed to be facing North Korea in the second play-in match on the Gold Coast on Thursday.
Oh yeah for sure. It’s part of what makes the quarter-finals interesting. Two big sides will play each other but only one can make it through. Unfortunately nobody else stands a chance though.Certainly a big gap between the top 5 Womens Asian teams and the rest. Good to see Taiwan defending well and tiring the Chinese for us![]()
Absolutely. Taking them to extra time is a good effort, but I think Taiwan just got too tired and thus crumbled in extra time. No Wang Shuang for China though.Yeah one of those games where Taiwan had a few chances but in the end China were to dominant
Wang Shuang receiving a yellow card in the 76th minute of regulation time in China's quarterfinal and will have to serve a suspension in the semi-final against the Matildas. No Wang Shuang for China though.
Yeah big loss for them. We have injuries too though to be fair. Either way we should be the favourites and we must win.Wang Shuang receiving a yellow card in the 76th minute of regulation time in China's quarterfinal and will have to serve a suspension in the semi-final against the Matildas.
