Why did VAR even check that goal?
Is it still possible for someone to score a goal without VAR trying to rule it out?
VAR is a blight on the game and should be abolished.
Yep, I can’t stand VAR, I wish it were removed from the game. Unfortunately I can’t see that happening, in fact it will only get used in more and more situations, as evidenced by the new rules to be used in the WC where it will be used to check corners and second yellow cards.

So 60k turned up to watch the Matilda’s tonight, does anyone think the Perth gen public will get behind them and show up? Socceroos games in WA have always had poor crowds so it looks to be another lemon turnout from the AFL loving state.

Foord was yellow carded - so it's possible VAR was looking at whether the afters with the keeper warranted a red.

Only the South Korean keeper Kim Min-Jung was yellow carded, with Caitlin Foord not receiving any card altogether.

People will say lighten up it's just football but whenever I hear Iran or have a student in my class from Iran I see a staggered defensive line, a torn down net and a late header on goal and a torn 9 year old heart.
I was 13 in Year 7 and was one of the few times I had cried over a sports gsme.

That night compounded a pretty dark year for me personally as I had lost my maternal grandfather 5 months prior.

Given the crowd they got at Optus and now it's a smaller stadium in a knock out game, I think they could sell more tickets than the New Zealand population.

I remember every four years at school people talking about how australia really is good at football, we just have an unfair pathway but missed the game

Kind of wished i went through it tho as painful as it was. Definite shame i didnt get to see so many great players at their peak

Well I’m tired as fuck but good atmosphere despite the somewhat disappointing result.

Shoutout to the Korean players who came over to the Aussie and Korean fans all over the stadium. Apparently AFC rules are stricter which is why the Tillies didn’t do a signing session. Also shoutout to the Korean fans for bringing a good atmosphere.

Well more people have been watching the Asian Cup on TV than the whole NZ population. This will be the most attended edition of the tournament in history for many years to come especially if oil money gives the next few to Arab countries.

Those great players were mostly a cohort who came through the AIS. Sadly we have no such program now as it would be of great value for both our men’s and women’s teams.

Ais definitely helped and i hope we get it back, similar to clairfentaine

But its funding peaked in 2014 suggesting other factors player a role

Hope Steph and Ras are okay.

Also hope little Koby Gorry is okay after breaking his arm!

sorry to say but I always feel underwhelmed watching.
The countless simple errors, pass's to no mans land, to the opponent, slow pace - koreans looking sharper smarter shows up where the squad is at.
IF it wasn't for some of the old stagers could have been alot worse.
Its so hyped up about the tillies which is great but welcome to our Roo world living in hope.
Korea, their couple of subs made impacts let alone the starting line up.
Won so many 2nd balls, showed more skill and combos, they turned us around going forward with pace.
Don't get me started on Ellie - what a wasteful outside player.
Fowler has come back from injury, if your selected your considered fit to play, not involved enough, timid.
Foord wasteful.
I expect others will say otherwise considering the ongoing hype for so long you sure expect more than what was dished out.

g'day ladies and lads . still broken after last night . 3 hours on the f3 car park coming from gosford .
an hour getting out of the car park .
to be treated to long balls and the imagination of a fence post from melbourne media darling ,joe moron.
and now having a 1000 dollars worth of tickets feels like a 4th placed ticket in the melbourne cup
