I never ever thought about uber seeing my phone was on low battery...
BTW I've noticed traditional cab fares are now almost in line with rideshare. I got an uber from the Brisbane Jazz Club at Kangeroo Point to my house just before Christmas and it was $74.
Last.week I did the same journey in a Yellow Cab and it was $80.
Anyways regardless if price I nearly always get a cab just out of principle.
Did you watch the whole thing? The pricks monitor uber driver income and adjust their cut based on what they think they'll accept.
What a disgrace.
Yep. Needs more regulation from the authorities and people who use it should educate themselves on how they take advantage of the drivers, many of who are at the bottom rung of the employment ladder.
No good going on a demo about this, that and the other and how farked up capitalistism is then jumping in an uber to go home...
Or in the case of the quintessential Gen Z hipster-protester the parents home....
This shit needs to be banned ASAP.
I was thinking about it today seeing all the delivery riders go by. These digital services moved so fast that legal departments said they're in the clear as governments were simply playing catch up on getting rules in place.I always tip the driver no matter what. They're supposed to get 100 % of the tips. I heard uber takes roughly a third of all the ride share fees. Just imagine how many uber trips are getting made a day and they're getting a cut from every single one. They must be raking it in.
As for taxis. Can't stand the rip off pricks.
no doubt covid set the gauntlet.![]()
Why a packet of Arnott's Shapes could help determine the 'case of the century'
The "case of the century" is set to play out in the federal court this month, with the ACCC taking on supermarket giant Coles for what it claims are "illusory" discounts.www.abc.net.au
Supermarkets bullshitting, shocker. All of the pricks showed their true colours during covid.
no doubt covid set the gauntlet.
I have no idea who here works for or industries involved.
As for me small owner biz Importing and supplying some majors in my game.
The big boys put pressure on more discounts due to higher volume buys - ok volumes were great we agreed having applied pressure on the factories to support us.
Then we copped how about reduced shipping costs considering everyone is suffering and the currency fluctuations.
Fark what next.
In the meantime the Retailers kept their RRP right up there yet saved a motza and doubled their margins.
Have they dropped their prices since getting back to normal ???? ofcourse not because people have been trained accpet and keep spending even though we are meant to be in a living cost crisis.
Then you know what comes next - when you have NIL supplys or fill rate not meeting target - oh the big boys with their systems provide you with a expected lost sales summary over the next 3mths and fine/send you a inv for the lost sales !!!!!!
I hate to think what coles/woolies/Bunnings/myers etc do to suppliers for in my industry I know how one behaves just as dirty and either makes or breaks you when a small supplier.
Interesting to see digital price tags that were from German lidl. They like to regulate the hell out of things but it's so overregulated that the prices surges aren't noticed due to a lack of or hyper focus on other areas. They're definitely nudging prices up.
What happens is a very murky situation that even investigative journalists struggle to clarify.
