I get where your coming from a southern perspective - are you telling me without looking up football clubs in the UK Scot weren’t started till after the convicts came to Aus ? Barring Sheffield U ?It would be no skin off my nose if Australian Rules Football itself died(hell, it’s already dead to me these past 20+ years)..but IMHO it would be a cultural tragedy if its traditional VIC clubs, which have been around since 1858 and indeed pre-date every️ club on Earth today(w/the exception of Sheffield FC) were to keel over & pop their clogs.
Of course, this is all hypothetically-moot anyway but it’s my way of saying that those clubs should be salvaged into outliving the village-code they were forged in, should it ever come to that.

Collingwood has a lot of Greek fans. I don't see anything wrong with migrants deciding to follow AFL if they want to. It's an awesome game. I know AFL supporters who are just as passionate about supporting Panathinaikos and Liverpool as they are Collingwood. That code war divide seems to cut strong both ways with a lot of people which I reckon is a shame.
AFL isn't going anywhere. I've always followed AFL but I do resent the leg up they get from their broadcast deals, government funding but mostly a really favourable media landscape. That said AFL the organisation is much better run.Why ive said it’s a cancer in part.

It wasnt a bad idea in itself at all, but unfortunately we ended up botching it in terms of what we chose to emphasise about/how we (mis)implemented it; the fact Han Berger had to re-write Rob Baan’s original document into basically a '..For Dummies' version that was supposedly easier for junior coaches to implement was lowkey-embarrassing.
