Summer of Cricket thread

At this time DC. Given Green has recently recovered from major back surgery I believe CA is still managing his work load. For mine he has the makings of a strike bowler if he wants to go that way, open the attack and bat #5, #6 or even #7 similar to our last genuine all rounder Keith Miller.
Concur with that.

Also, want him in the current team, because he is still young.

Murphy wins the spinning stakes and my bolter Jhye Richardson is a big chance to play his first Test in years. Rocky ignored again, baffling given his form and it being a dead rubber, so what better time to blood him.

It was 2010/2011 Rich. That was England's first and last series win over us since the 1986/87 series.
Yep, Cookies Ashes. Actually I had forgotten that series as evidently too had A1.

Richardson is a terrific bowler - who is injury prone. Again Aus needs Webster to bowl back up pace to lighten Richardson’s workload.
He has finally had corrective shoulder surgery Jon as it has been a succession of only shoulder injuries that has kept him out of cricket. CA must be in no doubt he can now handle five days of cricket. Was in good form in the recent Aussie A game.

Plus Rocky has taken 20 Shield wickets to Murph’s 10
It is the vast discrepancy between the pair over past three seasons. Selectors are brain dead or are trying to feather Lyon's nest in his absence as if Rocky were to kill em in Melbourne they'd be in a dilemma.

I think Murphy deserves the chance seeing as though he has already been blooded and it is on his home ground where he has a good record.

Once Lyon is gone Rocky, Murph and Kuhnemann will be top of the pile.

Battling to win the coveted specialist role. The longer Rocky is ignored the less his chance of being our long term spinner. I am not discounting Raf MacMillan to leap frog the three, is only about two yrs in age behind Lyon when he was first picked and has already played for his country. Expect Mac to be in the Tigers contract list next season.

I would have agreed 2 years ago, but watching recent Shield cricket, I think Rocky has overtaken Murph.

Kuhn had overtaken both last season, but has barely bowled a red ball this season.

Selectors can become static in their thinking.

Without doubt in our minds but it is the sometimes hard to fathom selection panel that needs convincing. Have they even perused his past two full seasons, had they I am fairly certain it'd have been Rocky, not Murph they'd have chosen in the India A series and therefore in the box seat to debut in Melbourne.

Amongst Crick Tas Members yesterday, inside info suggests the current Aus selection panel aren’t watching games live as much as their predecessors.

In the past selectors talked to the Shield coaches about their own players, and, tough adversaries from opponents.

In England though, Darren Lehman, has been staggered by recent selectors not seeking out his opinions, as a coach, on his own players and adversaries. English selectors appear to be making some odd decisions.

Pom players drinking is not why they are losing tests.

I always believe in hanging a guy for the right crimes.

Tney are guilty of, not being fit enough, not working hard enough, poor technique and lapses of concerntration, a lack of fight, and poor tactics.

Not all of them all the time, but enough to explain 3-0.

Team bonding via drinking sessions sometimes works, it can encourge the team to play for each other and work harder.

The Pom media have being critcs down to an artform, the same journos probably regularly get drunk, are lazy and are not team players.

No one in England owns a mirror.

Weirdly they selected left arm Cooper Connelly for the second Test in SL.

I just cannot believe a West Aussie, CC, who has barely taken a Shield wicket was selected above his gun spinning WA teammate, Rocky?
