Sign Up Now!Next-to-Buckley's would be my bet, despite his 'effnik' surname.Wonder how much this guy knows about football.
Wonder how much this guy knows about football. Could be a good thing in terms of turning the game a bit more profitable, but we keep steering away from what makes football great
Wonders aloud also how much he knows.... however and it's pure assumption and guessing on my part...Next-to-Buckley's would be my bet, despite his 'effnik' surname.
you do know I bolded the section purposely eh ?
Of course I know, it wasn't aimed at you. All goodYou do know I bolded the section purposely, eh?
It's a critical and important appointment...

APL, were looking for someone to lead the organisation from a business sense but more importantly to have skills in marketing sport and media negotiations.
IMO the stand out CEO we had was our first in JON from a rugby background. JON marketed the Socceroos like never before and was behind some very clever marketing at the time.
He also recognised the one team per city was wrong and although he set it up he wanted in season three to expand to 10 teams with new Sydney n Melbourne teams.... it's history now Frank said no so he quit.
Marketing and the next media deal are so important...
For those South of the broader....the NRL appointed the head of NSW racing and he kept both jobs..... without doubt the best sports admin appointment in the NRL history and arguably the best appointment in Australian sport over say the last 15 years.
PV, new little about the NRL prior to his appointment.
Let's hope nay let's wish and were we can help him.
I hope you are wrong.Middy,
PV is no comparo even though yes he has done a great job in NRL role.
He is not CEO but Chairman for NRL.
Plus a local, played NRL as a kid, so he knows/knew the game DNA..
APL has signed a Vic originally a sandgroper playing afl - he's quoted its his game.
Kudos to his work resume absolutely but does he know football ?
I think he knows "events" very well and that just maybe good to find new sponsers but what about the rest it needs ?
Oh - $'s is all that matters and granted thats what it needs in bucket loads.
I wish him success for you believe me.
No, the Championship and right down below will not suffer anymore than it has the last 20yrs.
Just out of curiosity, what's his background? It sounds Slavic but it's not Balkan because that would be Rosić. Perhaps Russian or Ukrainian?Next-to-Buckley's would be my bet, despite his 'effnik' surname.
Keep in mind quite a fair few of 'em in this country(and elsewhere such as the US & Canada) added the H for ease-of-pronunciation purposes; otherwise they would've been prone to having their surnames mispronounced w/'ick' at the endJust out of curiosity, what's his background? as I said at the other thread, the history seems to show that administrators from other codes seem to inherit stereotypes about football fans...I'm not confident he will have a productive relationship with active support which seems pretty important for the a league to recover
No arguments from me on that score...as I posted earlier other than JON, all have failed on many fronts.as I said at the other thread, the history seems to show that administrators from other codes seem to inherit stereotypes about football fans...I'm not confident he will have a productive relationship with active support which seems pretty important for the a league to recover
Post of the day you'll make a great lawyer if not one alreadyAPL has a very good record of making good decisions, so success is assured
