The protest group against pro Australia was a mix of pro Palestine and indigenous groups. The latter started a welcome to country and the former cut them off. They'll eat themselves from the inside.

Just watched the news. All these Jewish people bagging out Albo about doing 'fuck all' about rising antisemitism, particularly the Israeli ambassador, and how they should have done something about it. (Someone should remind that fool that he's a guest here.)

Like what could they have done that they weren't already doing?

Besides banning protests, which they should never do, what exactly?

We only see the feeble words on TV from our leaders but I'm sure there were measures in the background from law enforcement. Stupidly these guys fell through the cracks.

When you see the Jewish community, it's very insular, a lot haven't been in Australia for a long time and they have this bubble and superiority complex. Just like the ones in NYC, they have their bubble and are resistant to the outside while expecting its full support. My first exposure as a kid was some orthodox Jews at Phillip Island watching the penguins and I asked my parents what they were wearing. Also when that bridge collapsed in the 90s at the Jewish games and I asked if our Olympians were involved and I was told it's essentially a separate group of people.

You're half right although the issue is Israel is a sovereign country (the only democratic country in the Middle East) and the other is a terrorist organisation designated as such by most of the Western world.

History has a way of repeating itself & we tend not to learn from it.
The Middle East is no longer where we have most of that most treasured commodity, OIL, it's now Venezuela.
Here is where history repeats, suddenly Venezuela has drugs & criminals, bombing of boats, the US mobilizing off the coast of Venezuela on the war against drugs.
Now moved on 5 years the US is a sovereign country (and democratic, we hope so) & Venezuela is the terrorist organisation designated as such by most of western world (if US still has such influence).
