Didn't you say Rockdale will be Relegated and Olympic will strive now ? lol

Sydney Olympic is the story of over paid players that were too comfortable and did fuck all and achieved nothing.. They never had to worry about backlash from fans cause they don't have any. Now those same players are asking for the same amount of money at other clubs and they are getting turned down.

If that happened at United or Rockdale, players would be facing the axe.
 
People are interested/do care about Olympic, why else would 4,000 turn up to a pre season friendly v Hellas a couple of years ago. People need to step up and focus on finding solutions rather than just putting their heads down and giving up when times are tough. We’re talking about a club with 70 years of history, it’s worth fighting for. They don’t necessarily need to be getting 4,000, and I’ve said before even just start at 1,500 - 2,000 as a base in a more appropriately sized venue

Might provide South Melbourne an opportunity to sign a quality Olympic player.

This Australian Championship has opened up the football market to attract the best talent.

Go to an Npl game then you’ll see the fans all (30 pensioners) that actually care for them not some one off preseason game

I know you have a rivalry and probably dont like them, but I’m just trying to look at the positives/be glass half full instead of trying to look cool by death riding a historic traditional Australian soccer club. Just my 2c but sometimes supporters of some clubs can fall into this mentality that if a club doesn’t have its token little crew of blokes dressed in all black then it doesn’t have support or people who care about it. Even when Marconi was getting 5,000+ average crowds in the nsl they never had that element. Olympic are in a bad spot, they’re not dead. I agree their support is fickle, but they’ve also had decent crowds in the cup v Sydney fc, or even in the grand final only a few years back v APIA at Leichhardt which they won to become nsw champions. It’s really not that long ago

Fwiw i think Rockdale would have been a worthy addition to this comp and maybe one of the only clubs in the country who weren’t in it that would have been capable of matching or surpassing the numbers the other foundation clubs had

Could pull up similar photos from Melbourne knights this season or Preston games 10 years ago etc doesn’t mean no one cares about Melbourne knights or Preston. Helps the optics at Rockdale that the grand stand is small/appropriately sized for the average crowd, Belmore is massive

Does anyone on here have any suggestions re clubs who weren’t in the championship that could realistically have done as well or better than the ones who were..for me; Melbourne knights, Rockdale, maybe Bonnyrigg 5 years ago or if they’re able to turn things around..maybe dandy thunder or Hume, maybe Adelaide city..that’s it realistically and a lot of those are maybe..hypothetically
