Football Kits

Just something about that France 98 kit. 90 is definitely unique. England 66 is of course legendary.
Looking at the image, I hadn’t realised that England 66 is the only one where the winning team wore their away kit in the final.

There was an excellent show on English TV where the shirts were sought. Lots of interviews, stories and travelling. They cleared quite a few up. It was on YouTube at one stage.

It's really held in such high esteem. Did Germany not have an away kit?

We'll look really good holding up the trophy in black with licorice all sorts on the side next June!
I recall reading that even though England were the host, that didn’t mean they automatically were the “home” team. A coin toss was held prior to the 1966 final to determine who changed kits. Germany won the toss.

2nd gen Italian kid at my school turned up in the Italy World Cup shirt just before the 1982 tournament started. Everyone took the piss out of him. The weren't by the end of the tournament....

I also remember him wearing a few different Serie A kits from around the same era. This when football shirts were rarely worn aside from actually playing football in.
