Marconi v hellas final, “the clash of the titans” Huge, how befitting for the first championship final to be contested between the NSL’s two most successful clubs. Gonna be hard for them to decide where to play the final. No obvious way of doing it fairly

My gut feel is it will be in Sydney due to having more neutral grounds. Everything after Lakeside and AAMI Park is a tip.

Imo the Marconi club itself would be the best venue, but that’s obviously not fair. Maybe it’ll be at parramatta or something

Even though parramatta is too big, if they’re gonna play at a neutral Sydney venue atleast let it be a top tier facility befitting if a national final Ala the Australia cup final Sydney United played there

I can only see us getting it if they deem South finishing on top of its group and Marconi 2nd as a tiebreaker.

Sydney has better venues, bit too big though.

The fairest wouldve been the game goes to Lakeside not bc its Souths Venue (thats a bonus) but bc:
1. Its by far the best of the available venues.
2. It has proven it can host big games most efficiently.
3. Undoubtedly the championships biggest possible final crowd will be here for the showpiece! This would suit FA in theory, but then again im not still convinced that fully vested here.
4. South finished highest and it would only be right imo.

Having said that the FA will figure between the 2, south fans are only ones that will travel in numbers so Sydney it will be most likely!

Re statement event, that’s why i say if it’s a neutral Sydney venue imo should be something like parra rather than kogarah or Leichhardt. But it’s probably too big and it’s probably unlikely anyway

For me Heidelberg is not up to scratch to host a national final, dont get me wrong a home state final is good but the place is a bit of an eye sore and has limited seating. It does however fit a large crowd. If Heidelberg is chosen over Sydney venues i can only assume its what i stated earlier which wad South accumulating the most points in the group phase and topping the group is a tiebreaker between foundation clubs.

If it is Heidelberg i guess Marconi fans can enjoy the fact that we recently lost 2 grand finals there 5-0 and 4-0 respectively lol.

I think the Marconi club is the better home ground, but I can agree that lakeside would hypothetically if available be the more suitable host venue. It’s more modern and more centrally located

The thought of Heidelberg making money off us makes me feel uneasy, their canteen will make a killing. I reckon i'd rather lose it in Sydney lol.

Then again they carried on about winning the npl grand final at lakeside. Hilarious if we get a shot at a national title at that dump.

As someone from Sydney South deserve to host it and they would definitely draw a better crowd then Marconi would at a neutral ground in Sydney

Massive win today at Lakeside. Was an amazing performance by the team. We maintained possession and never looked overwhelmed by Heidelberg. We matched it with them.

Aguek - one touch one goal. Super sub by the South coach.

Great crowd and atmosphere.

Lakeside would have been the perfect setting for the Australian Championship Grand Final.
