NPL 2026

It also amazes me that this is the first time Zoran Markovski has had anything to do with Preston in an official capacity. He never played for them in his long career, spent the bulk of his career in opposition (mostly with Gully), now he has been part of the coaching scene for over a decade i'd say and again nowhere near Preston, im pretty sure he never played juniors there either.

Actually surprised that he was a Preston supporter.

There was a post on twitter on him joining Preston and him, Avondale and his own family had the biggest sook about it being leaked but at the same time he should’ve closed his mouth so he got dirty at the club and doesn’t want to join anymore
I think there are pills for just such instances of 'premature ejeculation' hahahahaha

Assuming South is able to retain most of its Australian Championship squad, it will be South, Preston, Heidelberg as early 2026 title favourites. Interesting to see how much money Oakleigh throws around to qualify for the Australian Championship.

The battle for the championship spot will be between Heidelberg and Oaklaigh im guessing, maybe Bentleigh and Thunder involved in that race.

This is why we need to be very careful with how we structure our squads.
exactly right, and why I am afraid of this Oceania adventure... We are stronger for the scare we copped this year, no doubt, but as we saw, relegation isn't that far away when teams take their eye of the prize and focus on "marketing and metrics".

Id like to believe that with the 30 player depth they can get this right..players like Menelaou and habin can show good first team growth playing there and the key players for the NPL.. this can work and Sinisa seems lik3 a coach knowledegable enough that he can rotate correctly. Atleast thats what im hoping.

Poor excuse not to sign with Preston.

To be honest, I would not mind if Tavere signed at South. He's a handy player.

I didn’t mention it at the time, but I actually happened to attend this game. I agree stick up for your fans etc but just fwiw, there were clearly people present that night who hadn’t been part of the journey of the clubs rebuilding and who had jumped in now that it was a big game and it was cool again, and thought it would be fun to act tough. we all know the type, they float around a few clubs in both Melbourne and Sydney. Preston club officials were pleading with them to behave, but they didn’t give a fuck.

Also on this, can confirm Olympic village is nicer than before, but the stands are still far from the field. Atleast now you can walk up to the fence where there used to be the gravel running track. Also the non grand stand side is almost untouched from what it was before

The non grandstand side has lost the covered bit, cant see the field. Which is why the Preston fans were all to the left and right and even those views arent great.

The only thing thats improved is being able to watch on the fence line. The main grandstand is horrible, lacks elevation and the poles obstruct viewing. Best view is to actually stand up at the back of the stand.

Only thing it has going for it is that the grandstand is entirely covered so it protects well from the elements.

Yea noticed that re the non grand stand side.

The grand stand having poles obstruct views reminds me of lambert park in Leichhardt or eastern standard at Melb Olympic park prior to its demolition

To be fair it’s been cleaned up a bit atleast, had a lick of paint, new scoreboard etc the place was extremely run down before the refurb. Barely seemed like a facility which was still in used, looked abandoned
