Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

I feel like this is our biggest game since the nsl finished, we have won titles and dockerty cups the last 2 decades but we've never made a national final. We fell short in our 2 australia cup semi finals and we failed in our 2 attempts at the national npl finals series, losing to SA and Tasmanian opposition at home!

Heidelberg did win the national npl finals once and obviously go to an Australia cup final. This would be a massive hurdle for us to clear to actually get to a national final.

I didnt see any Spirit shirts at our game. Im not sure if they had anyone, may have heard something if they scored who knows.

Didn't see any Spirit fans qt the QF but did notice a smattering of Broadmeadows and Moreton fans at our other two matches, both set of fans where awesomely behaved and seemed to enjoy the hospitality and the occasion. Olympic fans where also really well behaved a but a few less than I was expecting, at least they brought some banners (WTF is with these commercial printed player cartoon like banners every one is doing these days, they look like AFL grand finals posters).

I chatted throughout the whole game to a Moreton family sitting right behind us (mother sister and mates of one of their players) and to a couple of older blokes from Broady at the other match.

Absolutely top notch people had a great bit of banter with them, they loved coming down to Melbourne to play a "big" club and just being involved in the whole thing... Just regular club nuffies like us, following their club around the country....

Every story has heroes and villains. Its just another chapter in the journey from cradle to the grave. We win and its another final, we lose and its another heartbreak... que sera sera .
 
Looking at the map ticket sales have slowed to nothing. Aside from those of us who felt rushed into it because of the middle bays being taken in our stand i think everyone else will hold fire and just buy at the gate.

It also could be raining so everyone may want to huddle in the covered areas or stand in a dry position.

Im gonna tack a printout of the map with me and AND move from white spot to white spot as a damn well see fit. hahahah

Was ridiculous wasnt it? Heidelberg president got stuck in as well. Meanwhile the berger bunnies are doing the "na pa na gamithite" chant towards the metro supporters.

Its a great opportunity to tell some of these "fans" of ours who still call the place Bob Jane to go sit on the other side with the Bergers.
 
I think you have it all wrong here .... one reason I purchased tickets early was to make sure I am under cover!

If its going to rain (and it certainly looks like it will be wet), both myself and the other 8 people I have purchased tickets for, will INSIST on taking those seats that we booked that are under cover.

If that means kicking one of YOU off my seat, so be it.
