I have to say that Davidson was the biggest culprit. He just needs to be dropped altogether. Reec & Vergos can go as well. MVC may as well bring in a 16 year old since the aforementioned three will do nothing to improve the team. Replace Diles? Who could possibly improve Davidson, Vergos or Reec? Aside from a deity.

I'm an outsider looking in who hasn't seen much of MV this year but agree Davidson looked well off the pace on the weekend. Too slow now, at least for wide areas. Also, I'd say Vergos needs replacing asap. And whoever brought Vergos in probably has some questions to answer. Apart from that, I thought MV looked ok for the most part so I wouldn't be in a rush to sack Diles. But I guess the reality is big clubs won't put up with a lack of results for too long.

On a positive I thought Genreau, Miranda, Inserra and Jelacic all looked good.

Mata, Valadon, Davidson didn't have their best games but have more to offer.

I was really disappointed in Reec and Vergos, but Vergos was better.

I wouldn't mind bringing in K. Yengi as a loan striker in January. Or pick up Cummings or Maclaren. I wonder what Wigans plans are for Francois?

Either let Arthur Diles buy a striker when the January transfer window rolls around or if we don't have the cap space then at least let him bring a few in on loan.

This is the main point for me. Whoever identified and signed Vergos and Reec, and on long deals, should be the first one sacked. No point getting a new coach when we have a reckless idiot bringing players in.

Reec was a serviceable-enough player for CCM a few years back so that explains his case at least. It’s Vergos that particularly does my head in - it’s almost as if we mainly signed him to lowkey-attract more of the community to our games..

I stop just short of betting the house that there’d be more-prolific strikers in the Primera División than him, LOL

Two and three.

Vergos was coming off 5 goals in 31 matches, and Reec had 3 in 20.

Complete waste of time, both of them.

Looking at the next four games.

Brisbane (away) - They are equal with SFC and Auckland for goals conceded at only 3. Considering our non-existent attacking options, it's safe to assume we won't be scoring any goals (unless we get lucky with a pen). Best we can hope for is a 0-0 draw, but realistically BR will probably win.
Macarthur (away) - They are nearly as weak as us up front, but much better at the back. We might get lucky, but probably not.
Adelaide (home) - They have plenty of attacking options and are ok at the back. Even if we score, they are going to score more.
Melbourne City (away) - Too strong all over the park. Repeat of the previous match.

If it's straight losses, Diles will be gone for sure.

Same. I guess the club just CBF’ed w/it and frankly I don’t entirely blame them bc if he were to go on SEN for instance, the ️-illiterate AFL bogan jocks would just want to hear about his time winning the WC, Champions League, EPL & FA Cup instead of the Vuck anyway.

My understanding is that wages for loan players still get included in the salary cap regardless of whether the AL club is paying the wages or not
