The Football Australia Thread

football360.com.au

New Australian football website launching soon. Wonder who's behind?
maybe its this JS96 not football360 ????
The "Football 360" mentioned is likely referring to the R360 breakaway competition, a new, privately funded global rugby franchise league fronted by England's Mike Tindall. R360 aims to be a grand prix-style circuit with city-based franchises, featuring both men's and women's leagues, with a potential 2026 launch date. While initial reports suggested it would launch with 12 teams, the plan is now for eight men's and four women's teams, competing across various global cities.

There's been some press going around here last 24hrs.
Rebel Rugby comp franchise.
Bloke behind it is backed by Saudi was involved with the LIV golf lawyer background.

christ and you wonder how the Championship is going forward for the FA ship has sure been leaking alot since the JJ departure.
Does not bring confidence thats for sure when our Governance is a leaking boat and still supposedly looking for a Captain.
Is this what JJ was seeing ?
I mean this $8M loss was under his watch ?
the 8 million was a one time debt to the apl i believe

Not surprised especially since Heather Garriock flagged that there were going to be retrenchments following the annual general meeting in May but if the spate of FA higher-ups quitting is due to governance issues then it's undoubtedly cause for concern.

Anyone hear the colossal failure that was the CEO on 2GB yesterday?
What an absolute sh*tshow

Heather, starts around 57:50 minute mark, goes for about 10 mins
Embarrassing
She got absolutely roasted when she hung up too so make sure you listen

I actually thought she did pretty well

Shame there were no questions about the regulatory framework and the lack of football investment from fa (and the government to be fair) which is making a big impact on fees

Just another money grab that was probably dreamt up by some suit from a consultancy after a liquid lunch on a Friday arvo in an effort to rip even more revenue from fans.

Because national team jerseys at $180 a pop, that cost $20 to land in Australia, wasn't enough of a gouge on the fans. How else can we rip them off?

Graz,
For starters Mark Levy is a nrl bufoon type but at least he put the game out there for I've hardly talk about the game generally.
He also obviously doesn't have much intel but word of mouth/goss.
Also he's another typical media type having no real interest in the game but to bring up a headline.

As for HG, I sure couldn't agree she did pretty well, I thought she came across like a amatuer for such a high position held.
I was cringing, she lacked authority - was smokes and mirrors not showing much directive and lacking confidence.
I agree the price rising was low therefore she should have come across saying that they were negotiating with the Feds NOT to pass on the minor increase's but to absorb it into their costs considering she said the rise was around a cup coffee flippantly.
Lord knows if she was asked about future Investment in the game let alone any chance her gaining any support from the Gov.

I heard enough to convince me we really need another JJ type or better real quick.

Gee looks like that 5 million dollar loss that gets glossed off & the recent "settlement" with Macarthur has to be clawed back somehow.

Let's start by inventing a bullshit membership that may or may not give you tickets to the World Cup.

I can't believe you thought she did pretty well! I thought she was disgraceful for the CEO of a major national sporting body. She was all over the place with her explanation. I know what she was talking about, but anyone who wasn't familiar with the cost structure across football in Australia would have no idea what she was saying. Someone at that level should be able to clearly explain the cost structure in two minutes, and how the national fee increase of $3 per year for juniors and $7 per year for seniors fits in and give it context.

And it wasn't as if the host was giving her a hard time and trying to put words in her mouth either. He was asking genuine questions, and I could tell that he couldn't understand her explanation.

On that performance, there is no way in hell that Heather Garriock can be considered as a permanent CEO for FA. In fact, I would suggest that they need to get someone else in there now, even as an interim CEO, to get her out. I think the board have a lot to answer for here as well, surely they could see that she is not CEO material.

virtually what my post covered Keeper66.
Shit show hour and this person is looking over the largest Jnr participation game in the land as she mentioned - came across like a kindy teacher, this is really wrong and once again our game held back by lack of decent governance.
I can imagine them sitting across the table with Lederer and co at times or the PFA let alone the Feds haha
Seriously I'm at a loss.

Yep LFC, sorry I hadn't read your post before I wrote mine.

What the hell is the board of FA doing? Is the organisation (FA) at all functional?
