The Medical Room - Injury Updates

It looks like it's an ACL for Luongo reading between the lines. I hope it's something else. ACL is usually 12 months unless you're Circati.

He's just confirmed he's out for the season. Devastated for Mass, as he was starting every game & Millwall are looking like a chance to get promoted. You'd have to think at his age, that might be it for the Socceroos

Never wish for injuries but they certainly bring a bit of clarity in regards to selection headaches. Geria will probably get picked again now Matthews is out but after those two there's a bit of a drop. I guess Iredale, Grant and a few others can be called upon in an emergency.

Probably stayed down with embarrasment. Hopefully the coach gives him another shot
His play was surprisingly good on the weekend so he's certainly not weakened. Advanced ball playing and helping with creation.

yeah his play was excellent, working in a back 3 more fluently than the roos which all got pinned to the same line even when defending high

But his aerial clearances have been a weakness for a while which does make me worry

No excuse not to try Elder in November. Reckon we see Behich again though.
Think it is a MASSIVE missed opportunity if Popa just picks Behich as the only recognised LWB and uses Rowles as cover. Never been a more perfect time to at the very least bring in Elder to camp to see what he's got.

All things aside about Popa's system I just can't comprehend how he could play a CB in either of those WB positions. Without any forward penetration from the WBs the system is completely fucked.

Hey guys do u all reckon Soutter is out of the WC squad all together? Its just that i seen a post on twitter/X that he is rehab training.

He should be fine as he recovered last time shortly before the world cup and played 5 or so matches and killed it.

If he's back playing by April then he'll be ready.
+ Souttar would have to be near the end of his rehab and we're over 6 months out from the World Cup.
