vague impression is that he has some parts of his game that are advanced, but he looks raw

Well if he can replicate his overall performance tonight consistently, not just the goals, then he'll be a long term Socceroo. He was the complete number 8/10 tonight, as well as doing the grunt work in defence. Outstanding passing range & great technically. Newcastle were on fire tonight & everything went through him. One of the best performances I've seen in the A league for a very long time - with Popovic watching on in the stands.

his data on fotmob is incredible, top 10% for pretty much every stat! Will have to figure out how to rewatch
 
I just thought that I add another player into the mix: Will Dobson. The only way that Davidson could beat him was by physically crunching him. Kersey should have cautioned him. And Dobson had the assist for two goals. Not sure how many games he has played but on last night's show, he has a future.

Hard to remember many times
where a single player dominated another like that.

Jets had lots of good players, but badalato could’ve had two more. He was everywhere too, demanding the ball, moving, thinking, and exceptional passing at times with intent.

It’s refreshing to see players like that. It just would’ve been more refreshing if we scored 6 at the other end 😂.
 
Badaloto obviously brilliant on field, but gotta give a lot of praise to Millsy for the way they were prepared for this match. Diles had absolutely no answers. Interesting to see how much rope he actually has. That being said, Jets will need to fix their defence. They were fortunate MV have zero firepower up front. They won't be so lucky against many other opponents.

We looked like we pass the ball because it’s just part of the game.

They looked like they were passing the ball because they have an idea they’re attempting to execute on the pitch. You could see after their lay offs the movement. And passing with intent.

We psss and its like ‘ok my job is now done’

We really looked like we had no plan at all.

Disappointing start after a good pre season.

Yeah, he stood out in the cup final as well, get some consistency and he could be awesome.
