Big Ange thread

I’m not following..what’s w/that blank grid you’ve put up❓
yer soz about that - I tried to delete that for what I copy pasted didn't transfer really well.
It was just a list of champions by country yaddayaa from wiki.
Meaning all involved would still rate competing in it as bloody great.
I suppose Sutho wasn't watching each game through '22 when Rangers made it to the Final :) for the last time was in '08 both times runners up but I'm sure most of his fellow support were on the edge of their seats every game.

Looking over forest fans comments on Dyche, and Ange and it seems as though Ange was doomed before the start. Forest fans demanded a top 10 finish with Ange, but now seemingly accept avoiding relegation as success with Dyche.

and Dyche is nothing much to carry on about in the big picture.
Kudos done ok at Burnley but he there like 10yrs and the type of club that suits him.
Toffees with farfar more pressure - a few highs avoiding relo it burst and got punted.
Jumping into a simialr scenario if he goes to Forest and will punted far sooner I expect.

It didn't matter which EPL club Ange took over, they were always going to attack him from the start. It was obvious his stock was down in England after that season with Spurs. He needed to step away from the EPL if he was staying in England, maybe a Championship club would have suited better.

Dyche will get time because he has a bit more of a track record in England as being able to work with lower clubs and save them.

yep, Ange made such a wrong call but I feel his ego got the better of him.

Dyche has a longer track record and a Pom in the first place but it won't end well for him if he gets the gig I'm sure.

Most of the big hitters in the written football media seemed to support Ange.

Martin Samuel in the Times.

Matt Barlow in the Daily Mail

Charlie Eccleshare at The Athletic

On Sky Sports TV ex players turned pundits Jamie Carragher and Chris Sutton were both very supportive as was Joe Hart and even the unforgiving Roy Keane said he should have been given more time.

Tim Sherwood a former Tottenham manager himself has spoken very highly of Ange onnthe EPL pre and post games shows on the world feed which we see in Australia.

I listen to Talksport Radio a fair bit and weekend presentors Max Rushden and Barry Glendening were both hugely supportive of Big Ange.... As was Rory Jennings their Saturday evening phone in presenter.

Obviously there were some detractors such as the spiky Barney Ronay and his matey Jonathon Lew at the Guardian and Charlotte Duncker from the Times but I think generally speaking most of them embarked on bit of a pro- Ange agenda.

I doubt nationality has much to do with appointments in the EPL as far as club owners go and most fans don't care where the manager comes from either.

As for Dyche?

Well he's the quintessential 'meat and potatoes' manager. He'll only get a club so far. He will be able to set up a team who are able to grind out results when they are struggling but when it comes to the tactically fine tuning of a team in the heat of a game where the fine margins need to be expoused he's going to be left wandering around in the technical area looking at his shoes.....

At the end of the day, it's the fans voice that gets heard loudest.

You are wrong about Rory Jennings. I've never seen him say anything positive about Ange

Yes and no. Some of his comments have been contradictory and he is a bit of a grifter in that context.

It's all depending on the wind direction of his show. It's a fan driven call in show so he's taking their viewpoints moving his opinions around to drive calls.

After Big Ange won the Europa League he said Ange had done the impossible...

The other week he said Ange needed more time.

He called Ange the worst manager in the PL era

If Forest get relegated under Dyche, some fans will still blame Ange for their “eight-game winless streak,” conveniently ignoring that it included only five Premier League matches, three of which were against Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle.
