I agree they have to go full circle to appreciate the value and entitlement of these clubs - but to include both the traditional/community clubs and the new plastic clubs is a step further than they have ever gone before.The establishment had to come full circle to realise it is again right to integrate these clubs to the top tier via the second.
The Australia Cup thriving is proving that the concept of mixed competition has appeal and passion.
The Championship has a chance to re-engage the traditional and community clubs on a big stage.
It comes back to the original question posed - despite the pain and ignorance of 20 years 'outside', are we now approaching a point we could not have gotten to without that segregation?
