The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

500 would of been the bare minimum so to get it would be okay , everyone on the east needs to remember , we don't get the media attention you guys do ever there for your NPL , I would wish for that much media attention ( This is not a dig at you guys at all lol) its almost non existent without the core people , like the far podcast Perth and the guys from the footballwa.net website , and hardly anyone seems to care about the Aus championship over here which is a shame as Baysie are doing extremely well.

I think no one would be critical of that effort from Bayswater, most if not all the clubs over there seem to be content and comfortable with being state league clubs, that’s how it always was prior to Perth glory. The clubs that have been at a national level previously and pushing to be at that level again will be the ones who are expected to do the heavy lifting and level up

Looking at pictures from the ground it seemed about 1000 and apparently nobody was counting there so they just used a ticket sale figure

Nah, even the reported 534 was a stretch. I’d say approx 300. Nobody cares about these state league teams in WA anymore like they did back in the 80s and 90s.

The WA team should have been a team that was actually interested in the 2nd division, I believe Fremantle had put a bid in.

Or maybe just create a new team in Joondalup and unite all the poms.

Good day out at Lakeside. Good atmosphere and a decent crowd. There’s been a real buzz around the ground during this competition.

South outplayed Moreton City, and should have won far more convincingly. Hit the crossbar twice and missed a tonne of other chances. The forward press really troubled the Moreton players and they were constantly turning over the ball.

Apologies to any Queenslanders, but the mentality of the Moreton players was just poor. This isn’t junior/youth football. You’re playing Senior men’s team football. Constantly falling over, bundled off the ball under applied pressure, and not looking to attack quickly. To be honest, they looked out of their depth against a well disciplined experienced South team.

Bonada opened himself to the risk of being disciplined with his arm action. No need for that action when he had just won the ball. Now he’ll probably miss the next 2-3 matches due to it being a straight red card.

Aguek showed why he is one of the state’s best strikers. Got his first goal with his very first touch of the game, and then scored an absolutely glorious goal from 40 metres out.

Two straight wins as needed. Now for our first away trip to Newcastle to face Broadmeadow Magic. Won’t be easy but we need to win that one to help cement top spot.

That could have turned ugly for us in the last 20, no idea why Moreton didnt put balls in the box. We need to clean up our finishing big time as we shoupd have won that by 5-6.
Well said. Moreton came not to lose when they should have approached the game of how can we win. They had the extra player advantage and did absolutely nothing with it. For me a 3-0 win would have better reflected the dominance of South Melbourne had over Moreton City.

I was speaking to a few APIA fans on friday night. Apparently Wests now own 20% of the club.

The idea is within 5 years they'll do a full take over, where they want NRL, soccer, cricket etc.

RIP APIA, if true.
@Beretta for us down in Melbourne, why would Wests want to take over APIA? And why would the APIA Board sell out? I’m assuming it’s West Tigers NRL team?
