A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 1

Geez they need to put the camera on the other side of Suncorp, it's been an eyesore on tv the last few years. Good crowd in Adelaide, I didn't think it would crack 10k.
sounded more than 6k. 8k first home game last year so that's pretty poor
Adelaide did great

Bloody hell I put on total a league the second or first thing they talk about is Western united 🤣

  • Haha
Reactions: LFC
Well well, the two Sydney teams not performing, maybe due to cohesion, it could be a rocky start.
Adelaide were better than expected and maybe should have put them higher on my predictions, the Roar players look technically great, hopefully someone finds their finishing boots.
But it's the first game of the first round with a long way to go and as teams get match fit and more used to each other we'll get a clearer picture.
A couple of great games, so good that the season has finally started.

We all know Roar inflate crowd numbers so wouldn’t be surprised if they had 3k, It was a good win for them so I hope there crowd numbers increases in the next few home games.

There was very little promotion of this game in the everyday media. No telly apart from CH10 news, no radio or print.

Now I know about how nobody reads newspapers or watches the news anymore but there should still be genuine promotion across the everyday media regardless of that.

Added to the general apathy towards the Brisbane Roar playing games at Suncorp Stadium anyway and I'm afraid that 6K was actually a decent crowd for Brisbane.

Everyone is glued to their phones if they were interested in Brisbane roar it'll show up in their algorithm

Sydney Fc were awful. Only the keeper and Joe Lolley earned their money. Talay gone in 5 matches if it doesn't improve. Those new foreign players, did they scout them off AI generated YouTube videos.

I just think 6 or 7K average is where it's at for Brisbane Roar. It's no good anyone getting themselves in a deep-seated state of annoyance over it....

It's why I think that a city like Brisbane needs a modern 10-15K rectangular stadium for football and rugby union club games. Instead the State Government has announced that they are looking to increase Suncorp Stadium into a 65,000 capacity facility. It’s all about the Bronco's in Brisbane.

MacArthur is not in Sydney. Campbelltown had its own STD code, just like Wollongong and Newcastle.

Funny - Sterjovski is saying "They were time wasting" and Valkanis is saying "We don't apologise for playing hard". Two totally unrelated perspectives in the one article.

I think the constant whinging was paying off for Brattan - the ref was getting narky and shouting to get moving at times when we were doing nothing to slow play down. We took the same time their keeper did to restart at times but we got a whistle and shout anyway.

A Macarthur player walked a few metres onto the field with the ball for one of our throw ins - and our guy got told off for not being quick enough. We were walking at times when the ref expected us to run but it was far from being a time wasting session all up. Genuinely no worse than any other team a goal up just taking reasonably stretched time.

The Bulls had more then there fair share of time to get a goal back, but they just weren’t good on the day and Roar were better , why cry about time wasting when you had 1 more player on the pitch for, half the match yet did jack squat with the time u had.

Surprisingly few young players in most starting xi apart from adelaide

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but according to a map tool from a Google search - Perth to Auckland is further than Perth to Wellington - so Glory v Nix is no longer the distance derby...?
