Oi I'm not that fuckin old you start ups......:) I'm being polite here.
Domestic I can afford it my biz pays And I luv that its not packed out at the terminals and I've hardly experienced delays compared to the other 2 domestics.
I breeze in and out without fuss, thats all I want.
International I've used all that been mentioned many times - my cards are linked to Q points etcetc it just keep raking up.
I'm the one who pays more unlike many of you booking far in advance, I sometimes got jump on a flight next week 2max many times, you people who can book in advance save a motza, plus all those mad Friday sales etcetc - what you complaining about, qantas does that also not just virgin and jetstar.
Now thats a debacle way to fly, fark them, tried em twice, tight seats, pay this pay that - oh but I bought cheap flights - you dummies then you pay for add ons + over weight limits.
I wouldn't say 50 other airlines are better for I used many, maybe 10/15.
Cathy used to be a asian leader once upon a time, they went shit and more the others started doing their routes, near on every plane at HK used to be Cathy, they are slowly recovering.
Feck malaysian, their disasters of the past are enough to keep me away - least China Eastern seems to survive without disasters and you'd think how the chingers operate some faults would have happenned.
Qatar/Emirates/Singa are the best - the rest make up the numbers, some better some not.

Really enjoyed the Cathay price competitiveness as they claw back. Very modern and streamlined services. They did lose their way and covid was especially brutal for them. Flew Malaysian pre disasters and was none the wiser and thought they were good. Any turbulence now would be unnerving. Etihad is still a solid choice if the price is better than the big ones but they've also had challenges.

You're a different user than the average punter I'd hazard to guess. For the occasional flyer they're a bunch of pricks. If you're flying in a corporate gig like it sounds like you are and not on your own 'dime' then they can be good. (I was on a 4 month contract once with Qantas flights twice a week). Qantas lounge, lots of flights, perks, changes allowed etc, etc. BUT if you're an every day scummer like I am normally they couldn't give a fuck.

Yep for the casual occasional flyer they are dicks !
I also dislike how they influence the gov and they protect Qantas like they disallowed not long ago Qatar wanting to expand here hence lack of competition. < edited this typo errors.
I get it they monopolise our market.
On the other hand a Aussie company is fighting for their turf but it’s costing us.
Yes my business pays I’m a regular flyer for yonks.
Again though if you book early you can save a motza.
I don’t have that liberty but have the perks that makes it ok to a point.

PLUS the QANTAS lounge, at least domestically, is the best around

haha talking domestically - Melb re fit is good.
Syd is worn out needs a refresh, Briz went through a refresh little while back pretty good as well.
Hobart is small as as expected nothing much to boast about.
My tummy nice and full having always been in a rush and pretty pissed by the time I get on my flights and sleep like a baby hahaha
Oh - the lounges at Dubai/Qatar are to die for !

Ah, of course, environmentalism via absolution.... And you claim to not be religious :sneaky::sneaky:

On that.

The sheer amount of plastic the Japanese are pumping through is absolutely ridiculous. Every piece of fruit is individually wrapped not to mention every other item is encased in 3 layers of the stuff.

And here they're saying we can't use plastic straws.

Get sushi take away from a supermarket food court. They gift wrap it, give you every utensil under the sun, a freezer pack and plastic bag then a carry bag. It's crazy

Yeah I am a fan of Doha Business lounge. Gotten plastered in there many times. That lounge is next level good. If you fly business and stay in qatar the service from hotel to check in is phenomenal

Been to emirates first class in dubai - had my own sushi chef lol, was fairly empty though

Amex lounge at melbourne sucks, at hong kong amex lounge is pretty good I reckon for essentially a free service

Was in thai business at bangkok recently, the old section is ratty but new is good

yer Doha lounges your like a king, emirates Dubai is nearly as good.
How friggin big they are as well, nearly walk the whole terminal haha
I've never needed to use amex actually.
Yer its a whole diff world getting back to cattle class - hence why its good having the status/one world - always assigned my aisle seat near the front, sometimes empty seat next to me.
LATAM Santiago lounge is another rippa lounge - had a refit few years back, nice power nap cubebicles and the cocktails/pisco sours are the perfect pre flight beverages.

Hey Muz here's another beef for you re domestic qantas when I fly, - you get those emails to upgrade or more leg room seat OR block the seat next to you - always at a price obviously.

Great perfect early summers weather in Santiago - mid high 20’s.
Luv this place but hectic for some.
Traffic is bad though.
Place having heaps of trouble with Venezuelans and Colombian illegals.
Food and beverages superb.
The Andes backdrop is awesome viewing as your driving around or at roof top restaurants.

I once drive with a venezuelan guy from Santiago to mendoza, 7 hours from memory. What a drive that was. Incredible - he was hilarious too. Very dodgy guy but we got along well. He had a woman in every town from santiago to mendoza lol

What are you plans for when you are there?
