WC 2026 Seedings

I wonder how this affects seedings
View attachment 3450
I'm not sure how close it is, but I know they're towards the bottom of Pot 3 (as things stood before), so may perhaps have an impact whether they, or another nation, are in Pot 3 or 4.

The new top of their group (Benin) is ranked even lower into the 90s.

Surely that South Korea thrashing did us some good? I take it we need the USA to do us a favour against Ecuador.

Not sure but I think the coefficients don't take goals into account. But still a handy loss.

Korea will lose 3.44 ranking points for that match - so still ahead of us (for now).
The victory over Canada nets us +4.76 points

Currently, this puts us up one place in the rankings (over Ecuador by 0.21 who had a draw with USA). I don’t have the calculation of points for this, but as Ecuador are ranked lower, they’d probably gain a small amount of points, might be enough to put them back ahead of us

If my calculation is correct, Ecuador would get 1.02 points from the draw v USA. Enough to stay ahead.

Ecuador playing Mexico next and Canada/New Zealand in the November window

South Korea playing Paraguay at home next week and then Bolivia in November

England, South Africa New Zealand would be culturally stale.
Yeah I agree, but whether we're pot 2 or 3 we could draw Canada who as hosts are in Pot 1 and after today's game, there'll be nothing culturally stale about a rematch. And we thought the friendly today was brutal!

Greece has got to get there first. They lost to Scotland the other day. Scots are on 7points, Greeks on 3, both from 3 games in UEFA WCQ Group C

So over the next few days we want to beat USA then
Mexico to beat Ecuador
Brazil to beat Japan
Paraguay to beat Korea
