Yep I agreeYep further supports my initial point. Including Rowles we have four CBs across the back and zero truly creative midfielders in the XI

Rowles for me is fine in the WC squad as an out and out backup CB. He's never in a million years a LWB and the poor bloke has to defend and be a creative outlet in a position he isn't familar withRowles must only be playing because Bos arrived late and Rowles already plays in the MLS so didn't have to travel too far. To me Rowles is a question-mark for the WC squad.
We've got the USA game too so Bos will start that.Rowles must only be playing because Bos arrived late and Rowles already plays in the MLS so didn't have to travel too far. To me Rowles is a question-mark for the WC squad.
How many times though even when we release the ball quickly from GK does the likes of O'Neill look up wanting to give quickly and there is NOTHING in front of them.Plenty of insights. We need to finally play a best 11 to see how they link up and get past a press. It's doable. O'Neill just not offering himself as a link up rather standing near 3 opponents.
Someone needs to send an email the Popovic that Rowles and Miller aren't suited to that. We keep going there. Imagine if we had Bos and Metcalfe or Irankunda at RWB?Rowles for me is fine in the WC squad as an out and out backup CB. I agree would be a lot better but that still doesn't change the limited passing options due to the lack of numbers in midfieldSomeone needs to send an email the Popovic that Rowles and Miller aren't suited to that. We keep going there. Imagine if we had Bos and Metcalfe or Irankunda at RWB?
That's true. I'll have to watch where Metcalfe and Italiano were. Too much habit of passing back also. We had some moments where we got in spaces. Canada owned the final 25. A decent hit out to show areas to work on. I'm glad of it.How many times though even when we release the ball quickly from GK does the likes of O'Neill look up wanting to give quickly and there is NOTHING in front of them.
This formation will be like wolves to the slaughter at the WC
Reckon if we'd had Canada's chances and movement I'd be pretty disappointed. Again Italiano got into some very good space while the ball was central or on the left only to be ignored. We can play those long balls.very different approach from canada. Gave our GK and back 3 room and squeezed our wingbacks and midfield
if anything it was harder to face than a high press because if we lost the ball we weren't set as deep
Mind you, Canada didn't generate much
Need a back 4 with 3 mids and 3 across front. Balard, Metcalfe and Robertson.I agree would be a lot better but that still doesn't change the limited passing options due to the lack of numbers in midfield
