I think the government might have just a wee bit more interest in the World Cup than the FA cup that attracts very little interest until the final 16 at best.

Yeah I get that but they ARE throwing money at the Australian Championship so they must see at least some merit in appealing to football followers in this country below the Aleague... The Australia Cup is pretty much a "festivus for the rest of us" anyway as the APL still treats it as a pre-season warm up anyway....

You may be right, but why hasn't their been any mention of the money that they are " throwing " at the Championship ?

You guys would be screaming about it from the rooftops if it was significant.

I dont think they are throwing ANY money at the Championship mate... Just the fact they are broadcasting it for free, all around the world, using 6 cameras is a MASSIVE win for "us".... You've gotta understand that while your clubs have enjoyed a semblance of professionalism for the past 21 years, every other club in Australia has had to make do with single camera youtube streams from temporary scaffolding IF that...

"throwing money" at broadcasting it mate.... SBS is paying for the 6 cameras, production crews, on air talent, promotion, wrap up show etc etc.. That stuff isnt cheap...

As for matches being televised in GB, scoff all you like but its a MASSIVE step up from NPL land.

 
ALM started of with a flop in the ratings!. Didnt even meet the ratings threshold.
