Big Ange thread

Ange is going to be fine, another healthy pay day on the horizon.

Yeah, it mostly sucks for his kids to be taken out of school every 2 years, but they'll be fine too with the healthy inheritance that awaits them (provided Ange doesn't piss it all away on dodgy Greek investments 🤣 )

do the people on here actually watch the games?

Thought the 3-4-2-1 worked better defensively they weren't as open on the break.

He never gets any players who actually want to take the game on - make shit happen.... not just robots.

His wingers are trash, Wood is useless like Maclaren he needs 20 chances to score.

It's very close to getting it right, thought the game was pretty even last night until the second half.

Welcome to the world of narratives, where nobody watches games. Results, trends...it's all that matters.

Correct.
Obviously I have watched many of his spurs games let alone many more.
Maddison was his great maker hope for one alas too hot and cold plus injuries he lost a main play maker not that I think he’s capable being dominant week in week out.
Forest he lacks a lot creativity wise but Nuno figured to hold stations take the pain and hit on counters that worked well and Wood did well last couple of seasons finishing off.
Now it’s the fine margins and small errors you get punished or at set pieces - Slot is suffering similar fate of late.

This.

And fuck me if he keeps his neck over the international break and then they all of a sudden go on a tear...

My prediction if they sack him now is that Forest will be relegated. Can't see any better options waiting in the wings and I can see it all come crashing down.

It was Ange's decision to go there so I find it a bit difficult to feel sorry for him. TBH he would have been been better to let this one go through to the keeper. Ange takes time to re-mould squads. Remember he took a finals bound Roar to 9th before he turned things around. The ALM is much more forgiving than the EPL.

If he had counselled Marinakis (who he seemed to get on with) to hold off until the transfer window and speak to him then it would have been a better fit. Forest may have come good and he doesn't get the gig - but another would have come up. At least that way he would have had a transfer window to reshape the squad to avoid relegation and another to rebuild. As it is there are no easy games and he is stuck with who he has and the transfer window seems a long way away.

Agree completely.

My read is that Ange at 60 recognises he might not be managing at the elite level or at all for too much longer. He also regularly mentions that the football world is going in one direction and he sees himself as a dying breed. Taking another Spurs gig would have been just that and maybe he knows he doesn't have many more title fights left in him so this job was turning the difficulty up to Legendary for the fuck of it.

He is the same bloke that just up and left the biggest job in Australian football so he very well could be throwing caution to the wind before that retirement in the Greek isles...who knows.
