true over hype - obviously they need to find different approachs to talk it up.
New terminoligies and stats that I giggle at for they are trying to make it sound more complicated dressing up a pig.
Johns is so dead pan I really don't like hearing him, TBH they are all such bogans I'm sic of it.
I don't even watch weekend games for years but for these and later finals.
Worse I fell asleep around HT haha

the best rivalries are built on ideological rivalries, like catholic vs protestant clubs in europe, or left vs right wing clubs in some parts of italy

If we wanted something similar we would need to find a way to harness the passion over the debate over ethnic clubs haha

What a load of bollocks getting people like snoop dogs etc over the years.
Just support local Aussie talent we got enough of them in the music field and the crowd get into it better and the $$ isn’t ott compared to the OS blow in Prima Donna’s and money stays here.

You clearly show that you have no interest in this game by your comments. People are fed up with Jimmy Barnes and the likes and would prefer international acts, hence why they do it. But, also it gets them exposure that the local acts could never dream of. Exposure = money, and in that field they leave football in this country for dead.
One other thing, Snoop Dogg is a co owner in Swansea city FC.

Mono - take note of the NO interest for even though I comment on eggball games due to all the press over 30/40yrs that you can't avoid at times correct I really don't care of the codes but passing interest I can't avoid.

Exposure ? the codes have it in spades - imo these imports has been a oneup manship by those 2 main codes, they already have spades of Fox money, pre sell out ticket sales then the merch etc on the day- they already have the $ in the bag and assured.

In the big picture people are there for the game barring the silly young un's who maybe there due to XYZ performing.
From a Syd perspective I get it when they shipped in Tina Turner - her NRL season theme song is legendary and was smart marketing #101.

I actually have zero interest in half time/ pre - game concerts or whatever, only go for the match and the bevy.

I think that there was a period where NSW dropped the ball on player development and the quality of the lower grades suffered.

Q Cup was stronger than NSW cup, but I think that gap will close.

The other area where QLD might have a edge is footy at the schools with a strong RL program.

Lots of Kiwis seem to move from NZ to QLD schools.

What I find stunning is how many of those young Kiwis have mad footwork.

Lots of good young players in the lower grades at many clubs now.

Most clubs that have had success in recent years develop at lot of their players.

We should see more good young NSW players progressing through the grades.

The game is pivoting back to unstructured attacking footy, talent and an instinct for the game count a lot. Coaches that just play a negative style and clubs that just try to sign a lot of quick fixes are unlikely to have success.

Scouting and lower grade coaching is important.

Same thing with the NFL refusing to have something more rock based for years now. It's either pop or rap and it gets further away from what most people like year for year. Of course the singers are known and have their niche but a guitar hasn't been used in a long time.

I agree Australian finals could do so much better. Plenty of great local talent.
