Big Ange thread

Spurs recruitment has been so much nicer for Frank than what Ange got. It's not exactly the value of fees but also the quality of players brought in. Compare Simons to Werner. Not to mention Bergvall and Gray will start blooming now.

All the more reason for Frank to win silverware within 2 years. Otherwise a bigger failure than Ange.

There was a period in the first half where they were starting to look like an Ange team. Then he took too long to make changes in the 2nd half, they were much better after the 3 subs. I still think he would be good with an experienced assistant to help him make these subs. Hasn't been able to time them right yet. Not sure if Wood is going to work, he can't do those little flicks and tap-ins a more technical forward can make. Igor Jesus looks much better in this team.

I agree there's no way Wood stays as first choice. He's also turning 34 in six weeks. Results are too important right now and I'm sure Jesus will start against Betis and that's where he'll likely stay.

Why would he chuckle when he has won only 11 of his past 40 league games, or lost 23 of his last 40?
Well quoting that what worked with Roar won’t work today is fairly laughable when said to a man who has won eight trophies since then. I think he knows what he’s doing.

It is true his league form in recent times as you say hasn’t been good enough. But context is everything and he is three games into a new club with many new players and besides Arsenal they have been the better side.

Write him off again if you must but history would suggest there will be a delicious warm serve of humble pie for all.

Betis score but 2 quick ones give Forest the league. Their fans are in dreamland for such a long awaited away trip.

Game ends 2:2. It's a league now so these H2H results have less of an effect.

This quote from the live commentary stood out to me;

“Ange then made an attacking change by removing Douglas Luiz for Dilane Bakwa and it backfired.”

This was after they were up 2-1

Even still Ange ideally needs to be getting results rather than draws or losses so Forest have a better chance of making the eight and getting into the knockouts directly instead of having to go through the playoffs.

It was away….and forest sure don’t have history playing euro for a while plus Ange just in weeks back.
Betis are no mugs some good players even though I also questioned his subs.
Hudson Adoi taken off but I suppose he needs to rotate as well.
You’d be happy walking out of there with a draw but they were getting pumped last 15.
Couldn’t hang onto the ball !

The Europa means nothing to Forest; it is the League that counts. That is where the money is.

Was Luiz a forced change because of an injury?

I think taking him off was bizarre as they completely lost control of the midfield as soon as he came off.

actually Anderson played better than Luiz imo and yer reprots are a slight hammy prob re Luiz.
Mind you I think all changes didn't improve them - I'm not sure of Forests depth - I saw some positive comments by Forest supporters on walking away with the draw.

Got to love Betis' cast of Premier League cast offs; Bellerin, Lo Celso, Antony, Llorente, Firpo, Roca, Fornals, Adrian, Sofyan Amrabat (and Rodrigo Riquelme and Pau Lopez

Was a fun game to watch, should of been 3 or 4 up at half time.

Lo Celso seemed very keen to get one over Ange haha

He's got alot more players used to playing this style. Once it all clicks its going to great to watch. Anderson is a proper baller.

I'm sure Wood must be looking over his shoulder re younger Jesus.

yer agree southmelb this 1st home game is a crucial one for Ange/Forest - Black Kats are doing ok as well - IF they let Xhaka influence the game they gonna be in for a big one.
