Murder is murder yet I wonder why it's highest in Mississippi. Is it random killing or the way people deal with turds there? Neighbourhood arguments and such.

There's plenty of data showing the proportion of certain ethnicities and crime and that's something that trickles throughout society and needs fixing. The fact that someone can commit crimes and be let go and then do this is unfathomable.

Basically what happened was they were very slow on the uptake. It was ignited for the best part of 3 days and then NYT, CNN and all the other names you can imagine started reporting.

I get it. It's considered a local story by the big papers but again it's something that's happened that they know publishing will rustle the wrong feathers. It gets their supporters upset as they have been numerous other murders and it fires up the right.

If they simply reported how messed up the previous situation was with court releases and their justice team wrote about how judges need to come down harder then any rational person would see it as decent reporting. Alas, many who work at these places think these thugs are harmless.

I can't get how this poor, stupid crime is another flag in the ground moment for either side??? WTF is wrong with people these days?

There are some examples where it'll get plastered across the news for days and lead to protests and riots. Notice the difference that after one side is killed, there is very rarely trouble. On the other side it feels like permission to riot.

It's also with considering the crime rate for certain groups is out of proportion. I think we need to listen to the more rational minds of society. They don't get the air time of funding.

The media and justice groups have no interest in solving these issues. If you have an organisation that aims to solve an issue and receives funding and cushy pay, why would you ever want to actually remove the issue that feeds you? Call me cynical but there's a lot of money to be made of social issues.

Sure it's political. The Mississippi case is likely different however in that it's domestic or neighbourhood feud based and not car jackings or gang activity. This is just my hunch.

We can't deny these cities do have rampant crime. It'd be helpful for law enforcement to receive support anywhere where crime is higher. They know only too well sending the national guard into gang town will lead to trouble so that's why they have the easy role of nice neighbourhoods and downtown.

Reports were the President phoned Qatar leaders 20min before. I didn't hear if Qatar rejected or protested the plan. Hamas also saying no senior leaders killed and just other levels.
