Soccer Ashes thread

Borello was looking bloody good when Brattan broke Borello's foot that last time.

His age probably meant he did not have another proper comeback in him.

Not the same position but it rankled when Brattan then got a national team run but Borello missed his window out injured.

Interesting comment. Strain is another darling of G and G posters.

I had a another look at a game where JS had pointed what he identified as all of Behich's mistakes at specific minutes and seconds of a game. I think JS was right on about 1 out of 6 or 8 occasions.

In the same game, Strain was playing. He made far more errors than Behich! IMO Strain struggled.

I think our current best RB options, although Popa plays a Right CB or Right WB, are Miller or Geria ATM. Bennie and Adamson are coming on - and at their ages it can be very fast!
Well it's easy for Behich to pass right or receive right because the majority of cases are in slow non risky situations. It's like saying a centre back is brilliant for so many passes when it's just moving the ball around.

I remember Strain being off balance though. He's had some good games too. The England friendly stands out.

Oh boo hoo about your Soccer Ashes insecurities. There's a trophy that was made so long ago so it makes a lot more sense than other things. Rugby League and its ashes is maybe a copy too.

There's a rugby league Ashes?

I've heard them talk about tests but...

Why does this backwards country need to have a trophy for everything, the rugby league is especially bad for it, with one trophy nearly every round FFS. Then the fuckin F3 Derby with a bit of concrete, when it is not actually a derby either.

Certainly in rugby league documentaries the series from the 50s to 80s at least. The issue was always the number of tests they played against England on a tour. Mixed I think. You look back at the golden era on tours and it was massive back then. I think England actually dominated the 60s or 70s the Australia came back.
