Happens regularly with these silly formats where both teams advance on 7 points.
 
FFS it's happening again like those past ones where both teams just stand around passing.
 
There was one sequence where they were passing to each other with no purpose to go forward and then the Oz centre back I think it was Pantazopoulos decided to play a long diagonal ball in hope of something lol.

Horrendous football, how is this coach still in charge of the u23 side is anyone’s guess.

last inexperienced coach standing....but its an important position. We have to start making the olympics again!

Regardless Vidmar has to go but was this in the closing stages? I don't like how the AFC set this up with advancing. Not much else they can do though. Maybe 2nd placed teams need a playoff but then that's more travel and time.

Japan are playing for a win now leading 4-1. Unlike this coward Aussie coach playing for a draw. He should be banned by FiIFA for ruining the sport.

Australia games in China are always tricky. The stupid competition allows for this tentative play in the 3rd game. They should have switched pots that 1 and 2 face off in the second match.

China are in on 7 points as all the other top clashes will leave enough teams on 6. Don't tell me Iran may miss out again.
 
Good squad, quite similar to the Asian cup squad but with a couple of new faces as well.

Hope they do us proud on the world stage.

This is a huge coup!! Obviously not tied to us as we know but the kid just signed a professional contract with Man Utd and from what I understand he has spent 15 of his nearly 18 years in Australia so would be disappointing for him to not want to play for us over Scotland.

Some VERY tough games in the group so let's get it!

What's interesting or rather terrible is games to lock players in don't exit until the WC and then the AC. Qualifiers for the next WC are even after the AC. This is annoying we'll need so long to sort Overy but maybe he'll be so good he can go to the AC.
