They do have a parent born in Australia. I'm not sure how long they spent there yet they moved away before these players were born. That's the tricky nature of it. An Australian moves away and has a family somewhere. They're certainly still Australian. Maybe not for sport representation though.

Players who've moved to other countries themselves and become naturalised to then play for their new nation is an iffy one. Brazilians playing for China. These rules do open up to player farming.
 
Just on the first game i didn't see any promotion on it at all on Ch10, are they trying to bury the men's national team I mean they did stick the game on there 3rd channel 10 Drama. However is it really up to them to promo it or does the FA have to pay to have it promoted on there airwaves?.

If they literally have never been to Australia, like ever, not even to visit a distant rello, then they're not Australian.

Karacic is even worse. Doesn't even speak English. Absolute garbage. There was another English bloke who I can't remember. English African bloke. Only played a few matches.

Look at the Indonesian team that just came to Australia. Not a single local. How embarrassing for them. I'd rather lose than have a team full of ringers.

I agree if they've never even visited it's a weaker link. Francis Awaratife? Not sure where he's from but I recall the person you're referring to.

No not him. Was way more recent. Played in the Olyroos Under 23 side. Someone will know.

Karacic speaks fine English as can be seen from the multiple times he has done interviews in the Socceroos setup. English isn’t his first language sure but these ‘rules’ that are being thrown around would mean that Zidane would have only ever played for Algeria etc
 
Anything like that lineup and it would suggest Popa is doing the right thing with these friendly opportunities.

Yeah that's him. Was driving me bananas not remembering who he was.

It's one thing to steal a place from a home grown product for an absolute gun that plays for the senior side but getting these blokes that once saw a kangaroo on TV to play for our youth teams is a slap in the face to our locals..
