NPL 2025

In fairness Marconi backed up after 3days and away was gonna be a uphill battle logicly.
Kudos to Franco P he manages APIA well just like he did when on the pitch.
FORZA APIA in the GF.
Premiers Spirit knocked off @ home by the Suns - look forward APIA knocking em out next Saturday.

I appreciate the diplomacy, but this has been the case for years. Rarely even a thought to get the ball on the floor and play the easy ball, always just kick it long and hope, always niggly little challenges etc.

I understand if you’re coaching Bankstown lions with all due respect, but this is Marconi. You’re talking about a football factory of a club which has one of the best track records of player development in the country and a tradition of trying to play well. I know he was brought in when the club was at rock bottom and probably the logic was that he would instil some backbone and grit, work hard and get the results necessary etc. and obviously he had gotten results, but there’s no reason why Marconi shouldn’t be doing that whilst also playing an attractive style of game like APIA for example. You’ve got all the resources in the world comparatively at this level, you’ve generally got a carpet of a pitch to play on etc etc

well I can't bag out a fellow Italian/Ozzi club I do admire from way back and to date....
I hear what your saying and you do need a coach that enhances better play structures - his game plans have frustrated the players hence the niggly and crappy tackling the way I see it.
Been Tsekinis way.

FNSW really need to rethink and reschedule the final series. the Midweek games kills teams. should be weekly finals series.
Happened to us last year, we beat APIA and then fell short to rockdale.
Spirit was missing some key individuals and it showed.

It's the problem with Final's series in general. Not a reflection of the season at all. Spirit showed consistency and domination all season, they're the one who should be pissed with 'nothing to show for it'.

Beretta as you know talking FNSW ?!

EZ, well they are Premiers and I get your POV and this is that "Finals" topic that cruels Premiers many a day.
I recall when it was first introduced back in grass roots club land as well, I kind felt WTF, being I have been playing Div1 for my playing days and won quite a few flags/Premiers having more games was fun for you enjoy the competition but to win from say 3/or 2nd provides that stick it up the Premiers great feeling and I get it but its so not what know league football as such abroad and back in my young days Finals were not even considered.

Δεν με νοιάζει η πολιτική. Είμαστε εξίσου κακοί με αυτούς. Τους σέβομαι αν με σέβονται κι αυτοί.

Yes they are dickheads for what they did. I completely condemn the flares, bottles etc. But surely to run to their supporters once the second goal was scored was completely unacceptable!!!
Google translate make you sound like a robot mate? hahahahahahahah

Anyway, Ive been the biggest supporter on Preston's resurgence on here, and have ALWAYS liked a flair or two at the soccer... Preston fans took it too far on Friday throwing them on the pitch.... I hope the club can self police their fans otherwise this is going to be a bumpy ride...

Preston Lions have started and created a Hotline to dob in the perpetrators, where they want names, footages etc. You can remain anonymous and phone conversation can be confidential

Here comes the internal bickering between the fans.

talk about turning on your own lol.

mind you I think the main point Rushy meant is respect works both ways But not every circumstance is that black and white eh.

The issue at hand here in Oz over zealous football behaviour that occurs weekly in EU forever is not condoned in this land of original conservatism since its beginnings ( you know sit there be quiet prim and proper) and even worse today due to our over cooked/done behaviour outlook our games supporters and Clubs are easy targets and at blame ourselves in case's like this one.
Though to me the respect both ways applies to players and we all know by some % supporters throw/scream out abuse to opposing players, I don't see its a crime for a player/s stirring up the opposing crowd having scored for it works both ways eh and what a pump it is as a player giving it back some - but crowd throwing flares towards players or onto the ground is wrong hence the issue obviously.
Am I wrong.

I'm in the "like" flares side of the fence as long as used safely brings a great scene around the ground.

But if he used a machete he would be out on bail
welcome mate.

Got to say this does have some truth - maybe not machete but talking knives.
Cut a long storey short we have a silly mis guided nephew here in syd who mix's with the wrong crowd for yonks, got pulled up the other month by the cops in his car done for drugs and knives in possession.
I passed on the wrap sheet to a copper mate the other week for a looksy for I expect the kid gets his deserved time due to previous offense's.
My cop mate said about the knives possesion, its a nothing today, normally offenders just get given a ticket nowadays its become so prolific.
