When does the Aleague transfer window close... some of these players are being extremely disrespected.Looks like they're hanging on for dear life.

Sure, but I would hazard that most clubs would want to have their squads locked away before that and a glut of fresh players on the market with only days to "do business' is only going to de-value them???September 15.
Today is pretty much over, so in 10 days time.
Case will be heard on Tuesday the 9th.
That being said, if WU are unsuccessful, all players will effectively be free agents so the transfer window doesn't really matter as much.
Absolutely. It's a mess. Apparently the idea has been floated that there could be some salary cap concessions introduced for WU players going to other A-League clubs. The more experienced players will be snapped up quicker than you can say shovel-ready, but the youth and squaddies will have limited opportunities. I guess the idea is in order to keep these players at the pro level, adding an incentive to other A-League clubs would encourage them to sign them.Sure, but I would hazard that most clubs would want to have their squads locked away before that and a glut of fresh players on the market with only days to "do business' is only going to de-value them???
If the club shuts down, then the players are free agents and can sign with anyone and anywhere they please, regardless of transfer windows. When does the Aleague transfer window close... some of these players are being extremely disrespected.
The problem of course is that the players are negotiating from a position of weakness as clubs may decide to complete their team before they become free agents, so at best they could be injury replacements. If the club shuts down, then the players are free agents and can sign with anyone and anywhere they please, regardless of transfer windows.
Yeah mate, no doubt but as per WAIW's post, the timing of it may mean that some of these players are left homeless this season... There is only so many signings a salary capped league can absorb and most overseas league are finishing up (or already finished) their summer business. If the club shuts down, then the players are free agents and can sign with anyone and anywhere they please, regardless of transfer windows.
As per post #962Wasn't there a decision meant to be made today on outcome of western appeal in federal Court

They wont be playing this season.
I'd be putting them into recess. Not folding them.
The right call.
Get themselves right for the enxt 12 months and sort everything out. Top to bottom.
Put a pin in the Stadium pipe dream immediately. Commit to building a proper stand on the other side of Ironbark fields and play there for the next 15 years. Its still a good option.
Good facilities, good youth set-up, just needs to right people in charge.
Nothing radical such as a stadium is going to happen unless extensive suburban development happens in the immediate vicinity or the immediate future. This whole thing from the very beginning was predicated on development occurring. It didn't, the local council stepped in and made that small stadium happen ( kudos to them, the club/developers did fuck all ) and that's about as much of a stadium there is going to be for the next 5 years at least.
Getting themselves right involves paying the rather large debt or starting to pay the rather large debt with collaboration either with investors, the ATO or whomever 'buying' the club and assuming the debt.
As it stands at the moment the people in charge steered the whole thing to this point of dissolution.
The whole thing was a finger crossed pipedream that is now surrounded by a dirt carpark and farmland twenty minutes from the nearest train station as far as the eye can see.
Hibernation? Those people that freeze their brains in the hope of living forever are also in hibernation.
